Welcome back Jega! I can also attest that there is no drama. (except for when Amicus gets his ship blown up 
)
There's a lot of new stuff/changes in STO since 2015. I just came back in Oct 2019 after a long absence as well. It's still fun and there are a lot more options for ships, skills, etc.
