Game Crashes on Login 8.1, DirectX 11

I bought this computer last year and was unable to run STO on it as it was. It would crash after the login page. I used compatibility mode/Win XP to play the game, I had a few problems, but was able to deal with it. However, since the March 1st patch took away XP support, the game crashes at login. Any assistance would be appreciated.
I have tried installing the game through Arc, Steam and even the old Cryptic files...nothing works. I have tried in safemode, checked and unchecked all of the boxes in Options. Force Verified more times than I can count.
I've been researching it and think it my DirectX 11 is causing it. Here are my specs:

This may help you a bit. Its possible that you are not compatible anymore with sto. Link to them updating the requirements for STO.

The question is, which OS are you running? You may want to try to turn off windows xp compatibility off. If you have directX11, you should be fine as they updated it to where you have to have it now.

Thanks for the link, the OS is Win 8.1 and when I tried installing it initially, it wouldn't run. I used compatibility mode with XP to run the game until March 1. When support ended for XP, I was back to square one.
I've been swapping emails with Perfect World
I just found errors like this in the game folder... evidently it's not patching correctly. I've been getting socket errors

windows H8, was always a p.i.t.a. just like (hissssssss)ta (vista).
see if it'll run in 7 compatibility if its there. outside of that try disabling things one at a time such as anti viruses and firewalls.
but i wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt hp's proprietary hardware/software jacking things up

It wouldn't suprise me either. Tried those, didn't work. The only thing that's giving me hope is that I played it while WinXP was still supported but that hope is dwindling lol.
Thanks!!

Just tried that, got this message. I have DirectX 11. It might not be correctly recognizing my video card. Perfect World requested my Dxdiag.

Unsupported Video Card
---------------------------
You will be unable to play using your current Video Card. Please upgrade your Video Card to one that supports DirectX Hardware Feature Level 10 or higher. See your Video Card manufacturer's documentation for information on DirectX Hardware Feature Level support.

its the video card. The card is only made for OEMS like dell and hp. STO is very graphic intensive with the new lighting system. Granted the card has 4gb or vram it's other stats are very sub par. It has 380 "Cuda cores" while most newer cards have upwards of 1000. Do you have any other graphic intensive games that you play? And if so do they play well?
