Season 10 of Star Trek Online begins the conclusion of a conflict that has been brewing in Star Trek Online for more than five years. The newest season reintroduces the Iconians – an ancient race that has remained dormant for years waiting for their time to strike. As the war approaches, new captains will emerge from Delta Recruitment to bolster forces in defense of the galaxy. It is up to Star Trek Online players to push back the forces of the Iconians. If they don’t succeed, there might be no galaxy left to fight for. Captains will be joining forces to fight back the Heralds and the Iconians this coming April 21st, 2015

Their metrics probably showed not enough interest in the delta recrutiment stuff, so they quickly release a new season to get more momentum... eh monetizing.

I doubt there is lack of interest in Delta Recruitment since I have heard reports of login queues and everywhere I look in game people have the delta symbol next to their name.

On another note, I like new stuff so a new season is a welcome thing to me. I'm the type that likes to go where no-one (well at least myself personally) has gone before. I expect it'll have teething problems like most major content updates and there'll be some shameless money making schemes but such is life as it stands. Spoiler (click to show/hide)For example, I enjoyed the last mission where VanZyl turned out to be under the control of the "parasites", partly because it was a good twist and partly because she looks like my ex so phasering her down was the highlight of my week.
