hmm would've thought that the soyuz would be an upgrade on the miranda, seeing as a soyuz is just a refitted version of a miranda. ah well, centaur, miranda or soyuz they're all cool

According to the spec sheet the Miranda is a Heavy Cruiser. In real life navies, the tonnage, armor and armament is what determines the grouping. Still, there is variation from navy to navy. The Miranda has a relatively small crew compliment, as well as being a smaller ship but has ample weaponry given it's size. I suppose that's what makes it a Heavy Cruiser.

However, STO says it's a light cruiser. I don't suppose it matters really....

I just can't wait till I get my first ship after the starting ships. Personally they aren't that interesting to me. I would prefer a galaxy class ship to start out with lol Then I would just start blowing birds of prey up while everyone is a low ranked and I will ascend to the throne of emperor of the galaxy whoops getting ahead of myself there

well as emperor I would give everyone a gift basket and force the cast of star trek the next generation and the cast of the original series to duke it out in a winner takes all cage match on a planet for my own amusement just kidding lol but seriously who would win in a fought stng crew vs stos crew vs chuck norris (sorry I just had to include chuck) Or how about this chuck norris vs borg cube. This is very simple chuck would point at the cube say bang and the cube would blow up

If the TNG crew ran into the TOS crew in a cage brawl. The TNG crew would likely take down most of Kirk's crew and then he would be all like, "PIIICCAARRDD!!!!!" Then he would beat up everyone from TNG and then make out with Deanna and Dr. Crusher.
