I have raised this suggestion before, but, wouldn't it be possible, at least in the interim without an editor, to issue blog authors credentials to post for themselves?

This is possible. It is certainly possible to give access to a handful of people who would like to make blog entries. I am for it, and will even try to push for it.
But some people think moderation is necessary as it is for the entire fleet.
I can respect the need for moderation, but the whole single-poster thing is why the blog has had the problems it has - we went through three of those posters quite quickly, two of them without successors in place (or warning for that matter), and even when we had one steady any disruptions in their access, like moving or a change in work schedule, could still shut it down even with a full schedule of articles ready to go.
Hevach, and SBO, I can see the argument for more than one poster, I had the same argument re Diplomacy and only a VA, hence the addition of an RA/FC at one point.
What would you guys think of having a spot in the blog/magazine area, and one may already be there, that you post a draft of an entry for 1 week(?) prior to posting, with the plans that the VA's or SBO command has that time to verify/check/reword etc.
Pending an OK post you can then post at your convenience. Any poster that posts something innapropriate, etc can have their privileges revoked and have to forward articles in the future etc.

Yes this would work too, blog contributors post on forum and someone from Blog section/SBO command could then post it on the blog-actual.
That's actually a better compromise than I was toying with posting. Seems to handle the single-poster bottleneck without putting complete trust on individual writers. There is the contributors-only forum under the blog section near the top of the forum index that could be used.
