First time coming across this, apparently this didn't make it to the bluray either so not many people caught this scene.

Why even tease that? Lol

The number is significant to JJ and it is not publicly known why yet as far as I can tell.

The ship name and registry were also on a ship in the first film.

There was also the cybernetic science officer named 0718.

I get it now. Admiral Marcus was a TOS fan and he got hungry and became a grumpy Peter Weller of his original self. Someone should have replicated him a Snickers. Movie makes a lot more sense now.

This is on the 4 disc Star Trek: The Compendium set. I just got it and really like it.
