So with some of the money I received from family, I wanted to buy a new headset, preferably with 7.1 and less than a hundred pounds. Now I've seen you guys talking about Razer mice and keyboards but what are the opinions on these?

Re: New Headset
I'm a huge Logitech fan myself. I've got the Logitech G430 Gaming headset and it works great. It's got awesome sound and it's very lightweight considering it's size. It's also not super expensive and the quality is excellent. My previous headset was a Razor Meagalodon 7.1 and I always had odd audio issues with it, and it hated 64 bit computers. Since I got the Logitech one I've been pretty happy and never looked back. Anyway here's a link.

Re: New Headset
Tbh you are better off buying a good set of headphones and a separate mic. The sound quality of gaming headsets compared to good headphones is just rubbish. People will now disagree with me
That being said i have a Plantronics Gamecom 780 7.1 headset. Quality is better than my old Turtle Beach headset although bass is lacking. Pretty comfortable too if you have a big head like me.
I can't comment on the Razer headsets because i've never owned one but i'm guessing they have the same crappy sound quality of every other gaming headset.
Check this out, there's also a $150 and $200-$1000 headset guides.

Re: New Headset
I have the razor kraken pro. Nice headset, sounds great, mic sounds great, ear cups are very comfortable. Mine are not powered so I don't have to worry about a mute switch and extra volume levels. I can also plug it directly into my iPhone which is nice when I get a call while gaming. My last headset was turtle beach x12 which went to the wife.
