Kirk was over 100 years old? I think I need to see some movies I haven't seen to figure this all out!

Re: fun short facts
well that seams reasonable to me, human lifespans would likely increase dramatically in 400 years. thanks for the time line, nice to see it set out clearly as with all the time traveling that goes on its easy to get confused and it reminded me of some stuff i haven't seen in a whileAPewty wrote:Kirk was over 100 years old?

*sigh* Time for a Star Trek movie lesson....APewty wrote:Kirk was over 100 years old? I think I need to see some movies I haven't seen to figure this all out!
In Generations, Kirk save the Enterprise-B by manually activating the deflector dish RIGHT BEHIND THE DISH ITSELF. When the Nexus hit the dish, it hit Kirk and he went bye-bye into the Nexus.
Fast foward 100 years to Next Gen crew and Picard gets sent there as well. There he meets Kirk, WHO HAS BEEN THERE ALL THIS TIME. Together, they go back in time (don't ask) and save everyone but Kirk dies....badly.
So he wasn't over 100 years old, he was just stuck in the Nexus where you never age.
This has been your Star Trek movie lesson of the day.

Re: fun short facts
Kirk was 60 when he entered the nexus, and seeing as from his point of view, when Picard gets there, he has only just arrived, he would have been 60 when he died
