This may seem like a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyways.
What exactly does "Research" mean in regards to the role you play in-game in Star Trek Online with 12th Fleet?
I mean I get that we'll be asked to use science vessels for our ship selections, but are we going to be limited to the Olympic, Hope or Horizon class ships? I was aiming a little higher and looking at trying to get a Deep Space science vessel like the Luna or Sol.
Also, what skill set should we use if we're in research? Engineering or Science? I was going to go with Engineering. I want to make sure that I have a clear understanding as to what my roles will be once we start playing so I can stay focussed on our goals and things.
Oh, one more question:
Is there going to be a standard set for uniforms for 12th fleet? So we know what our crew and officers should be wearing? IE, black uniform, gold communicator, military style pants bloused into boots? etc?
Research role clarification?

Re: Research role clarification?
Well, for me and maybe in general it is difficult to exactly say what the role is for research. I imagine for that we will do a bit of exploring in search for strange lifeforms (intelligent or not), (space)anomalies and analysing those events.Saranfell wrote:This may seem like a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyways.

At this moment I thing it is better to choose a science career and I am not sure about this but I think they are better for analysing and making better use of the sensors.
As of the ship class, of course you can get the 4 or 5 tier ships if you want to!

I think it's important that if you are research your uniform be blue at least. While research is academic, it is at the foremost, scientific in STO.
Just my two cents
