my mothers computer will not boot. just lands on blue screen asking for a keyboard layout. then asks for a corrective issue of rollback (which fails), last saved image (which there is none), command prompt and i think one other.

looked it up last night and it might be a master boot record corruption.

grrrrrrr.

now i kinda get the login screen but theres no time, no wifi, and no login. or i get the actual login but it loads a naked desktop with a trashcan (maybe other app shortcuts) but an error message something in the system32/config/system something or other is is missing.

i hate windows.

Yep. Sounds right. I am hoping I won't have to wipe and reinstall as often now that I upgraded my hardware in March, but before that I was down to about every six months. You could have hardware problems that are contributing to your system problems.

Wait... You're saying that wiping and reinstalling your computer every six months was considered normal for you? :o
