Cool. I have always had a solid appreciation for kit bashing in model building. Do you know if these were concepts for the episode(s) or an after the fact with post show retail kits?

Hey Qor'Daq, Rick Sternbach posted the pics on his Facebook page indicating that these were the originals and that he was finally able to get a close-up shot of them. Because of the limited screen time, I had always been curious about these ships. I'm big ship guy so I try and follow his posts.

Recently Rick Sternbach was also on an episode of Trekyards if any one is interested watching it. His insights on designing the ships are pretty cool.

Below are some quotes from his FB page.

Finally found a few more usable pix of the kitbash ships from TNG's "Best of Both Worlds" and that's pretty much it for now. In alphabetical order: Ahwahnee, Buran, Chekov, Kyushu, Melbourne.
Rick Sternbach: Kitbashes from both the 1/1400 and 1/2500 Enterprise-D AMT kits, plus hi-liter markers and scratchbuilt styrene bits and a few bits from a toy construction set. Original builds by Ed Miarecki with ultimate BOBW damage by us gang in the TNG art department with Dremels and X-actos and paint.
