The Akira-class starship has always proven itself to be a formidable ship. This Heavy Escort is as effective as it is deadly. But with the arrival of our newest lineup of Heavy Escort Carriers, our engineers felt it necessary to give this iconic ship the update it deserves.

We’re happy to present our latest update to the Akira-class starship! We’ve remodeled the ship to show off a beautifully-high fidelity that will match our more recent starships. This updated model will be a free upgrade to any ship that has access to the Akira-class parts. Captains may have to visit the ship customization screen to see all of the new details.

and yet. they cant be bothered to update the separation tech on the prometheus

If only they did not bother with the ugly T6 skins and update the canon skins on every ship I would be happy.

I would agree with that,
But none the less this is still an improvement... Even if it means only people who are at Commander rank can appreciate it.

You van use this skin at t6 level?

While it looks good, I'm not a huge fan of these T6 upgrades. Sure, the stats are great, but let's face it...I already spent $10 on the Heavy Escort Refit, $25 on the Heavy Escort Carrier, and another $5 to upgrade to the Fleet model. Now they expect me to spend another $30 to upgrade my favorite chassis once more. It would be nice if there was some form of discount in place for those of us who already have the previous versions of the chassis, like they did with FSMs.

At this point, I'll probably just stick with my leveled T-5U Heavy Escort Carrier and skip the T6. The same goes for the T6 Exploration Cruiser...that one is even worse, since they took the 3-pc bonus away from my cloaking device and gave it to the T6 version, and they don't even have a T6 update to the Dreadnaught.

You can, what Im stating is nobody really uses the Akira at T5/T6 levels as many would use the Heavy Escort Carrier with the Armitage or Thunderchild skins, so the only people who would really benefit from this update would be the low levelled players.
