Load-in Issues since Thursday, July 9

I have been unable to play since the paltry patch that came out Thursday morning, and was wondering if anyone else was having similar issues? It seems I can only log into my KDF toon (not necessarily a bad thing) at the moment. All of my other toons were logged off on Risa, and since the 9th, I get a "Server not Responding" message when trying to load into the game; the game ultimately never loads, and it CTDs. My one and only toon not on Risa is my only playable character at the moment. File verification didn't do squat, so it isn't that.

On the STO forums it's an acknowledged problem.
Because they worked on the server's 'stability'.

Any attempt to "stabilse" leads to further instability. Something I learned quickly as a clinician.
I'd quote "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but I'm not sure that applies to STO servers (or any other online gaming server for that matter).
Called it on Wednesday when someone posted the patch notes
I shall continue with my Witcher 3 marathon then, that game has got me so bad, not sure I'll make it back out again

I have been having connection issues since last Sunday. Maybe it will work better for me. I kept getting a login2 timeout whe transferring my toon to the last map.

I ended up deleting my GamePrefs.pref and Character.hogg files per recommendation, the game auto-repaired those files, and I have since been able to log in normally. I don't know if that'll work for everyone, but a lot of people are getting around the stuck on Risa issue that way.

On FB they said they were getting an abnormal amount of traffic all of a sudden, probably a ddos.

coming from cryptic. i doubt it. these are the same yo-yo's that took a year to go "oh we got hacked"

Its a shame PWE dont show such a chart to show player activity (Probably too embarrassed to show their player base deteriorating over the years).
But this is a Screenshot from Steam Charts over the Last 7 days for STO (Its not an accurate source)
But as you can see, there isnt an increase of players from Steam before the dip in the Chart on the 9th June.
Perhaps it was a DDOS, Server update or maybe it was one of PWE's Trained imbeciles tripping over a cable.

That's odd...ever since I executed my workaround, I haven't had any further issues.
