I havent looked at the stats properly yet, so I cant judge them compare them to the T5-U fleet versions.
However, the Chimera equivalent still looks ugly as sin (There really is no salvation for that ship), The Klink version looks badass, yet the Rommie one... Im not so sure about... Probably prefer the original.
Luckily I use the Vet ships on my Klink and Rommie as "Beam Birds", so il be looking forward to the upgrade.

Upon closer inspection, iv decided that visually all 3 ships look terrible and the stats arnt that better as the Fleet T5-U variants, the only thing they have going for them are their T6 abilities.

And the improved quantum drive; they're one of the go-to ships for tour the galaxy.
But hey, free T6 ship for veterans? Hard to turn down.

Actually, this ship is so much better than the previous chimera, more crit damage, commander stations so more overlapping abilities, two lt commanders.
Would I have prefered a intel commander? Sure, but then this would have been one OP ship.
On the fed side, this is probably the third best escort behind the Phantom and the bug. Not bad for a *free* ship.
For PVE, the dreadnought-cruisers with intel stations still have the edge.

Looks-wise, the Chimera upgrade is still pretty meh, even with the variety of texture styles in customization, but I really REALLY like the KDF and ROM ships. The new Rommie destroyer in the whiteish silver is absolutely sick looking.

Have you tried the PIlot escorts? They are much superior to the T6 Bug. The only advantage it has is the Intel skills.
