The 12th Fleet: Starbase Valhalla

Hi guys,

I am really needing some help here as I am stuck and its curbing my gaming. Its a simple one really and I cannot choose what is the right answer.

I am trying to decide which faction/ship to choose, currently I have:

* Rom/Fed - Scimi
* Fed - Tac Com Ship
* KDF - Kar'fi Fleet Carrier

Now I love all 3 of these and cannot choose a style that bests fits me due to loving all. I have been with you guys for about 3 weeks and I have returned after not playing since STO launch.

From my understanding I need to concentrate on one toon now due to how the mechanics have changed. Can you please help guide me in the right direction? I love my KDF chap but worry there is not enough KDF ppl around to do regular or daily events. I play around 8 hours a day currently due to 4 slipped discs and syatic nerve problems.

The KDF chap is my DR toon so he has most of everything.

The Kar'fi is fun. I used it a bit with my Sci KDF character. It's really a Sci carrier though. Most of the damage in mine came from the pets but combined with a some type of Tet beams, they do some wrecking with the tricobalt torps the pets use.

It's simple, whichever you have most fun playing. That's what it all comes down to. If you like playing KDF but choose a Fed then you're not going to be having as much fun playing as you would had you chosen a KDF. Do whatever makes you happy.

(i havn't played kdf side so dont know)
but shipwise from what you've posted on the rom/scim & fed Com Crusier are both viable dps machines difference would be insignificant.

play what you prefer and nothing else

Hmmm, at 8 hours per day you ought to be able to play more than one toon!

That aside, I am going to echo the above comments; go with what you love to play. I will add that playing KDF is not the banishment it once was. I believe you can team up with Feds on missions without too much difficulty. That is one of the nice things about the 12th chat channel, the channel crosses all our faction fleets, so you can get a cross-faction group together there. TS can be hit or miss, but it is also a good spot to check for teaming up on missions.

If you the time and the inclination, go ahead and play all your toons.

It won't get you any speedy leveling awards, but you'll get there in the end if you really like your toons.

Could never stand playing ROM myself but that thing is a beast.

KDF was my thing.
