The 12th Fleet: Starbase Valhalla

What are you going to do with all the BOffs youve collected over the years?

Personally Im going to keep all of mine because I kind of RP in my head that they each have jobs....Jobs that dont actually exist for them like Helmsman and Chief Medical Officer. But because it would nag me that no one is at the wheel of my Starship. My Tactical Officer Williams wont be blown out of the Torpedo Tube.

I so coincidentally went over all my Boffs piled up just a few hours ago and discarded ones I saw no use absolutely. Actually commissioned a Jem'Hadar.

I have started renaming some as:

Pack Mule 1
Pack Mule 2

Etc...

As to the un-commissioned roster, a lot of those will likely get dumped to make room for uniques in the future. No longer useful for training, so kind of pointless.

I streamlined a bit, had several slightly different science builds which I can now carry on a core set of officers (went from about 8 sci officers to 4). I also kept several officers who have good ground traits as my go-to-away team.

I've still got a bit of work to do (I'd like to get 2 rommie embassy boffs with the Crit Space Traits to go with my 2 sci officers with Pirate space trait).

As for my candidate list, they're like to be "reassigned".

There is always the option to airl.... erm reassign them to somewhere else

Apparently we will be able to turn Boffs into Padds.... (already read some really delightful jokes about that on the various forums). Maybe it wont take dil if we convert boffs? But who am I kidding. Depending on what happens with the boffs I might turn some into padds for their abilities, the rest is going to be "reassigned"

I've been thinking idly that this gives me an opportunity to have boffs that *aren't* commanders. Before, all my tac boffs were commanders, and I'd just switch them for different ship roles: uber phaser boff vs. uber torpedo boff. Now I can have a commander and a lieutenant commander, and just trade off the abilities as needed. But now I can't downgrade any of my commanders, so I'd have to dump them and start again. <sigh>

I do the head-RP thing too. They're a part of my crew, and unless my head-RP involves one of them dying a horrible death I won't get rid of any of them. <3
