The Finished Viper

So here is the finished model. This is a battle damaged/worn Viper Mk II. The canopy is sanded a bit but it's not as bad as in the pics, it's still clear, just scratched and worn. I tried to add some burn marks, cannon fire on the wings and fuselage and i accentuated the lines to give it some depth. The overall look is a lot smoother than in the pics, it looks really sharp and rough on screen. There are two problems, the long red decal along the nose is off center but once i got it down it was stuck solid so that was that and the red decal going round the tip of the nose has a tiny kink in it, again once it was down it was stuck. Not a lot i could do about those, just poor quality decals as per usual. Tbh in person you can't really notice them. So, opinions...

Looks awesome. If anyone asked I would say that in war time they cant afford to waste time making things pretty. It looks like a bird that has been pieced together several times after combat damage with limited resources.

Not sure if it would help, But if you cut down some sponge and ( very) lightly dip it in a paint the same base colour as the hull, it's a handy way of adding chips and scratches in the paintwork on the red decals, and showing the bare metal / original bodywork underneath.

Just be careful with that technique not to overdo it. less is more

Good work on the viper m8!
Nice weathering on the engine's!

I would add some more weathering over the nose section, it looks a bit to 'clean' compared to the rest of the viper.
