STO launcher broke?

I was on STO this morning...everything was fine...logged off and messed about all day...now when i try and load STO (installed using steam)...
- A little window appears in the top left of screen "Cryptic Launcher Autoupdate".
- Gets to 5 attempts and gives me the error "Unable to establish connection to patch server. Please check your internet connection. If problem continues please contact Technical Support".
I had this problem before when I was using ARC, but simply manually updating the launcher fixed the problem and it went away. I have currently...
- manually updated launcher. (download launcher from http://files.startrekonline.com/launche ... Online.exe and replace it with the file within Steam folder)
- deleted the game and reinstalled.
- pinged the patch server and got response no problem.
From what I have been reading either manually updating works or your screwed...hmmmm...interesting. Any help would be awesome or have I just got to wait on Cryptic fixing something (like down server or something).
