I feel like boycotting the official sto forums. All it seems to be is whining and rage posts. I understand SOME of the unhappiness with DR but do we really need post after post?

Some are rants about what freebies you get. Umm... can't we be happy we got anything? If I were pwe/cryptic I would just shrug and say "well we even get yelled at about freebies..no more of those then.."

Talaxians aren't that bad of a race and helllooo we are in the DQ..who didn't see them coming?

Oh we only get one token...not one for every character.. Why should PWE care how many ALTs you have? It was free be glad you got anything..

Am I the only one tired of hearing the constant frivolous complaints? I do understand the major ones. Difficulty levels, bugs, etc. but not everything needs to be rage posted about.

And yes I realize this in itself can be registered as a rant post..but here's the difference. ..ready?....-rant over-

I completely agree too. I avoid those forums myself. As far as forums I enjoy reading peoples opinions in our fleet as these are the people I know and care about. I don't know many other players that post on the official forums and don't play with them, so their opinions are irrelevant to me.

It's not just you. I avoid those forums because all the posts there just seem really inflammatory and I don't like it

Meh... It happens every season, sometimes they can be kinda funny.

Yes the forums are generally full of vitriol, bile and flames. However there are occasional grains of useful stuff. I don't go on there much though.

Avoid discussion forums and stick to more focused topical ones (minus PVP) and you can avoid most of it. Faction forums can be iffy outside of the shipyards.

I am amused by just how blind the community can be - it's not as toxic as some MMOs I could mention, but there's some very specific hangups. Earlier today, the front page had, in 20 pages, 14 negative threads, 5 threads talking about how every negative thread was closed or deleted, and one thread speculating that lifers would lose Borg and Talaxians were a preemptive consolation prize.

Nope; totally agree with you. I have avoided the official forums for several years now.

these are my problems with some of theses things and again its my problem.

talaxians.... out of all the races that we met in the DQ (dairy queen..... grrr delta quadrant) they pick the one that spent most of the time whining and complaining about basically everything janeway did or does. was it too hard to ocampian ears? rouge hirogen? how about the race janeway blew up then un-blew up.

as for the ship token... why does cryptic feel the need to triple drip into something that costs a fair amount money to begin with. first you spend 20 on a ship then asked to spend another 5 for a fleet version and now asked to spend another 7 on top of that, but hey you got a lockbox ship... okay that'll be "free". if they want to make money how about taking all the lobi costumes, shunt them into the z-store for 2.50 and allow it to be sell able on the exchange.

cash shops are to sell only two types of items, one time purchase, and multi purchase items ie (dare i say it) keys.

all i have seen from cryptic / pwe is one missed marketing change after another because they want to get the "big" money when the could go after the "little" money and make a metric crap ton of money that they couldnt figure out how to spend.

I have never posted on the public STO forums unless explicitly asked to. It can be a wrathful place. Simon is right in that every new season you see these rants on the STO forum.
