How did you hear about the 12th fleet?

I saw the advert posted on the STO official forums, in the process of researching my options of a fleet to join.

What made you interested in choosing the 12th fleet?

You seem to have your heads on straight, and your priorities in order.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary STO interest (Mark all that apply to you):

(?) solo PvE, (?) Group PvE, (?) Raiding, (?) PVP, (?) Crafting/Trading

Honestly, there's no good way to tell, yet.

I've been in the closed beta, and the PVE seems like fun. Not sure how much replay value it will have, yet.

I do like grouping, and the STO grouping is pretty nicely done.

I haven't tried STO PVP, but probably will at some point.

No idea what the raiding will be like.

No idea what the crafting will be like. I can tell you that I enjoy making things, but hate inventory wrangling. My favorite crafting system so far has been the one in Darkfall (at low levels), and least favorites were SWG and Vanguard.

The only thing that's certain is that I'm looking forward to adventuring and blabbergabbing with like-minded merry nerds, and that there will be pretty explosions. I'll give every part of STO a try, and keep on doing what I find to be fun and rewarding.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
What days and times are you usually online?:

I'm usually on in the evenings. I play casually, and real life comes first. I try to keep busy in RL, and have company over as often as I can manage. When I'm on to play, I play hard.

At this point, I'll probably be on Sundays and most weeknights, away Fridays and Saturdays and a floating night midweek.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Primary Division interest: (X) Diplomacy, (X) JAG, (X) Tactical, (X) Intelligence, (X) Maco, (X) Exploration, (X) Research, (X) Medical, (X) Engineering, (X) Trade and Supplies

Secondary Division interest: (X) Diplomacy, (X) JAG, (X) Tactical, (X) Intelligence, (X) Maco, (X) Exploration, (X) Research, (X) Medical, (X) Engineering, (X) Trade and Supplies

I have no idea. I'll have to come back to this one when I can give an informed answer to the question about what I enjoy doing.

Until then, if I need a Division assignment, stick me in Tactical or Exploration, because in the meantime I'll be exploring the galaxy and blowing stuff up. I will be starting with a Tactical Officer character, and captaining the Escort class of vessels first. I expect, at the moment, to specialize my points into space combat fairly heavily. (In most MMOs, I keep winding up being a healer or similar. This time I'm making a point to go full-on heavy-duty thug.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever played an MMORPG? If so, which one and how long:

Anarchy Online, long ago.

Earth and Beyond, long ago.

Star Wars Galaxies (pre-NGE). I'd still be there and happily, if it hadn't been FUBARd.

Age of Conan, briefly.

EVE, until I realized I was mostly playing it as a side-distraction to surfing the web (yawn).

Darkfall Online, off and on, canceling for STO.

Secondlife, actively. I'm learning to build and script. I will be splitting my online gaming time between STO and SL.

I believe I'm in the minority in having never at all been remotely interested in WoW.

Had I not hopped in STO, I'd probably be following SW:TOR waiting for it's release.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a paragraph please explain how you will benefit the 12th fleet?

I'll log in, and help people blast stuff and rake in loot. I'll make funny (to me) commentary as we go, when we're not busy blasting stuff and raking in loot. I'll even post amusing pictures to the forums. I've been known to push the boundaries of good taste, in good fun. I've been a guild leader twice. I've been known to math out the way a game works to help my guildies. I'll post pics of my other hobbies and interests, as I get to know y'all better, just to keep the conversation light and varied. I'll throw Wesley in a torpedo tube with Jar Jar. Did I mention blasting stuff and raking in loot? I never wore a Sun Hat in SWG in a serious context. I use grated tribbles in my homemade breen recipe. I think like a Shadowrun GM.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Will you give your future division's Rear Admiral at least 3 days notice if you decide to resign?

If possible. In the past, when I've left a guild it's been because the game folded or the guild flew apart due to a dramastorm. Should I decide to resign in an orderly manner, then of course I'd give ample notification. I've been pretty careful about picking 12th Fleet, so I don't imagine that will become an issue.

Will you use Fleet Ventrillo Voice Chat?

Sure. What's the login info and current client download link?

Sometimes I prefer a quiet night, of course, with the headphones off and hung up, or if I have to be logged in to work or on a teleconference but sneaking some play time in between crises. But I won't jeopardize play success when I could avoid doing so with voice chat.

Edited to add X's to division interests.

Welcome to the 12th fleet forums. Hope you do well on your application.

Tactical is full at the moment, but I do believe explorations might have a spot free.

Thanks!

I'm not really worried about a department, at this time. We'll all be in Mirandas, doing the same missions, at least for a while! :D

So, put me where you need me. It's all good times.

Welcome Mr. Kakuri, and good luck with your app! But you really should check a primary and secondary interest.

Thanks for the well-wishes!

Other than picking a department, any other suggestions?

The research division and the trade and supply division are most in need of recruits at the moment. If either of those would interest you that would probably be a good bet. :D

Like I said... put me where you want me. If it doesn't involve a mop, I'll try it.

When I get in the game for real, I'll have a much better idea what sort of things I like doing.

Would you like me to edit my divisions to match, or just let that part be "flexible"?

Just check all the boxes or something. That way people know you are fine with going anywhere.

Oh don't worry none the Ensign positions involve a mop. You don't get a mop until you are a Lieutenant. Ensigns have to clean the floor with their tongues. ;)
