Life time and 1 year subscriptions are up.
Life time costs 240 dollar, 1 year 120 dollar.
Bonus for life time sub is 2 extra char slots and playable borg, bonus for 1 year subscription is 2 extra char slots.
Who else is gonna get this? I know I will! ^_^
In euro's the life time sub is about 165,50 euro, a little more then I anticipated but I probably wouldn't have 2nd thoughts anyways even if it was 200 euro.

(And that was before I knew about the bonusses haha.)
Other subscription plans without bonusses:
------------------USD---CAD---GBP--EUR---DKK
1-Month Recurring 14.99 16.49 8.99 12.99 82.45
3-Month Recurring 41.97 46.17 25.17 35.97 230.84
6-Month Recurring 77.94 85.73 46.14 65.94 428.67
[edit]
Extra information:
Life time offer with 2 char slots + borg char lasts till 1 feb 2010 for 240 dollar.
After that you can get a life time sub for 300 dollar and no extra's.
So basicly 60 dollar more with no goodies... If you want the life time sub get it before 1 feb.
Same goes for the 1 year offer btw, till 1 feb you get 2 extra char slots, after 1 feb the price goes up and no extra char slots.

Ahem.. be careful what you wish for is a famous saying...
The price is excluding VAT, so including VAT it's 197 euro for me (19% VAT in the netherlands).
Anyways, I'm still gonna get it when I'm home.

<total price life time sub> / <montly pay> = number of months you need to play before you start saving money.
Do that calculation for yourself and estimate if you can see yourself playing the game after that many months. If you rate yourself above 6 on a 1 - 10 scale then get it, if it's below 5 then don't bother.
In my case I give myself a 7 when I consider if I'm still playing it after that, so I will most likely save out money.
Keep in mind you also get some extra's, for some people those extra's are worth it to pay extra money too.
If they charge you like 10 dollar for 2 extra slots then that's money you already saved out. If they charge another 5 dollar to be able to play Borg then that's also money you saved out.
I'm not sure how much they're gonna charge with the MT's though.
I'm not even sure if I will make a borg alt lol, might be interesting to do so, but my main motivation to get it is because I expect to play the game for at least 2 - 3 years.

For the UK
LifetimeSub(£171.96) / Monthly(£8.99) = Months(19.12)
Months(19.12) / MonthsInYear(12) = 1.5 Years
Now, im not sure if the £8.99 is INC VAT so not sure, but if your planning on playing over 1 and a half years then its a good!
(Can you tell im a programmer?)

Well 198 € is quite a number but compared to the monthly price it's only about 15 month of gameplay...
I just noticed that selling it to my wife will be a battle of it's own

Bah, I hate VAT.
I thought the United Federation of Planets had abolished any need for monetary reimbursements!

Hehe, in WoW it used quite well to just let them play on your own account without you interfering... Then once they start to like it they're hooked and ready to be reeled in for a full subscription!
One of my friends even got his gf to farm mats and bg's for him because she enjoyed that a lot haha. Eventually he got her her own character though.
It can also work against you btw, another guy got his gf addicted to WoW as well which resulted in the following during a raid with loot distribution on vent;
He: I bid 50 dkp
She: 60 dkp
Random: 70 dkp
He: 100 dkp
She: 110 dkp
He: 150 dkp
She: DANTE!! STOP BIDDING OR NO SEX TONIGHT AND YOU SLEEP ON THE COUCH!!
He: *Gulp*, I withdraw my last bid.
Keep in mind that she was usually a very quiet woman and usually very agreeing with everything haha, she really turned into a tiger that night.

Hehe, smart move yeah.
With STO you're not quite that lucky though.. Some loot like the kits will be obvious for who it's intended, but most loot will be desirable for basicly every carreer, especially the space loot.
I wonder if we'll get WoW-like raid instances too that take several hours to complete... Personally I sort of hope not since those cost way too much time and force you to focus too much on loot rather then exploring, but on the other hand it was an excellent time filler end-game when there wasn't much else left to do.
Then again, that was also exactly WoW's problem, there was nothing else to do end-game except gathering shinies. Even PvP was all about gearing up, even though the means to do so were different.
In STO I'm having high hopes for the Genesis system to prevent this.
