only hard crashed three or four times. but each one was different. never had sto crash

Thanks Merlin, I've just updated all drivers, but sadly this hasn't helped. It still crashes just before the Cryptic splash screen. From what I've been reading on the STO forums, it's a fairly common problem, but one with little to no common solution!

Uninstall the game, wipe anything related to it like Arc etc. Then restart your pc, make sure you have enough space even after installing, sometimes inadequate hdd space can cause this problem. Then re-install STO and it should work.
