Third attempt, keep getting a c1900101-2000c error every time. Support site comments say it might be overheating, which my laptop already has issues with. Trying the Media installer and if that doesn't work I'm going to get some frozen cooler packs from my freezer, bag em up and set my laptop on them for the install...

If it's overheating on install then i would seriously consider getting your laptop checked and more than likely cleaned out. Dust is the most common cause of overheating on laptops.

I've had my laptop serviced recently, so I don't think that's the issue. From what I've read on the MS Support site, lots of people are getting this error even on super-cooled desktop. I'll try again Monday, got a paper to write tomorrow.

I used the media creation tool on my comp (8.1) and my wife's (laptop, windows 7). Both times no issues. my wife's comp is about 4 years old and my comp is recently built.

That can sometimes be related to either a memory issue or lack of hard drive space.

Also for those concerned with the level of "spying" in Windows 10 by Microsoft, watch this vid. Lot's of tips for blocking and keeping what you do private.

For some reason, ever since upgrading to Windows 10 STO crashes upon launch (just after pressing "Engage" on the launcher). I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but to no avail. If anyone has any advice as to what might make it work, it'd be very much appreciated!
