Everyone who owned a Bug beforehand is now going to be seriously p****d off. especially with how they will have paid for it
Maybe I've been playing this game too long, maybe I'm just too used to Cryptic not caring about their customers and maybe I've been mad for so long for what Cryptic did to the game that I don't care anymore?
Yeah, probably
I mean I'm surprised I came back after the anniversary fiasco. See, they found a way to ensure players could still get the Ambassador with the last anniversary. Did they give this year and STO's faithful subscribers, lifetimers, etc. the same courtesy? No. Being a lifetimer, I feel in a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario; I didn't have any choice in whether or not to play the game during the anniversary event. I had no damned computer, ffs!

I've made that clear to customer service. Maybe they'll do a one time, maybe I'll be just as screwed as everyone else that missed it, but I feel that act is infinitely more criminal to the subscribers and lifetimers of this game than screwing with existing bug ship owners. I mean at least there will be ways for that ship to remain in circulation. They gated the "Anniversary Ship" with a one-time. I've never been a fan when developers do that, and developers KNOW that's a bad practice, which is why you don't see others doing that, anymore.
That's why there's a strong veteran reward program in place in games like FFXIV:ARR, EverQuest 1&2, and such. SWTOR and WoW refused to do it (for the time being) because they believe in a "go all in or not at all" policy to be fair to their playerbase. Smart. Cryptic's idea of "veteran loyalty" is all over the map, and I'm really REALLY starting to lose my patience with them. Frankly, it's been that way ever since they went with PWE. I'm actually ashamed to admit it seems we've all accepted this, despite MANY of us (myself included) suspecting this kind of thing was going to happen in the first place.
