It is nice to have a quality single player game though. Also Torchlight seems like a wind under my wings after all the hundreds of play-throughs I have had in Diablo 2. It is surely a worthwhile purchase considering its price tag and quality.

Because after playing Diablo 2 for the 10.000th time a change of scenery (and graphics) is a nice change. As Torchlight is much like diablo 2 (in the SP sense) it's great for hours of fun

Because Torchlight is better then Diablo 2

Also they concentrated more on making the single player fun and repeatable.
Ohh dangerous

SP-wise yes. multiplayer is non-existant and that was a big part of Diablo 2, being able to play it online with people.
