I always found it funny that Cryptic was all about not being uniform with their uniform choices in the beginning and now they want everything to be the same, don't get me wrong I love the Oddy uniforms, I'm glad that everything is uniform I never liked the Jupiter uniforms as I personally found them ugly. But I don't think that we should necessarily be limited in our choices of what to wear and where to wear it. Just my two cents of course.

to bad hawaiian shirts are not in accordance with military guidelines and will not be allowed to worn outside of risa.

because cryptic is a very anal on the whole "canon" thing.

but thats my theory anyways.
Then on the note of canon: Starfleet isn't military; MACO is.

Only if my captain can run around in hawaiian print speedos. :vulcan2:

Canon-wise, does MACO even still exist? Weren't they pretty much absorbed into Starfleet?

Hmm, a question never answered outside TV and movies. It also seems to me that MACO was established into canon during Enterprise, no?

We exist everywhere. We're like S31, only stumbling about.

This rubbish is one of the things I prefer about ARR ( which is sucking up all my time)

You wanna raid end game dungeons in swimming trunks and flip flops? Go ahead

At least if the limitations were consistent, but they're not, it's just swimsuits, while everything else we can wear, even though it may be just as revealing or most definitely not following the uniform code. We can dress as Khan for Emperor's sake! Or a Vedek! Or various enemy outfits! But it's the swimsuits and the clubwear (that is also limited, right?) that breaks the immersion!

It is a little odd. The winter jackets can be mixed into regular uniforms (I think). So it seems a bit arbitrary. Didn't I see a Gorn in swim trunks on Q'onos once, though? Priceless, that.
