Not sure which posts you're referring to, but Rebirth is 100% truly live on Redshirt, running the launch version of STO (at least it was yesterday; haven't logged in yet today). The only April Fools joke was them saying Holodeck being shut down.

I'm specifically referring to those who bought into the Holodeck sundowning.
