Ah. I don't care about the story. Once is about all the time I'll have for it. A Sci KDF Romulan it will be then.

Have plenty of low level free ships that they gave away.
Time to use them on a new alt. Been thinking about making another science.

Here's a question. When you create a bank fleet, you have to leave one toon in it as the fleet owner, right? This might be one more reason for me to cough up a new toon. But then that toon can't get any serious fleet gear, because it can never leave the bank fleet, right?

Yeah, you have to leave someone in there. You can swap characters in and out to keep the bank fleet alive.

Hmm...maybe I'm glad I held onto a few lowbies, then. I know what my Caitian, Ferasen, and Reman are all doing, now.

No to any of these questions means I won't be doing this. I don't need another neglected alt.
I agree. I still haven't even levelled up my main to 60. If they think people are going to start BRAND new ones and grind it up, I think they're going to be disappointed.

Ugh... The idea of leveling another character from scratch...
I don't have a Romulan though...
I want to see what these 'bonuses (if any)' are.

I'm on the fence about all of this. I get the nagging suspicion that this event will not be as great as Cryptic will sell it as.
Some people believe this is an attempt to pull in new Gamers but I really dont see that as the case. Unless someone new just happens upon these blogs or creates an account just in time for the event. Theres really nothing about this event that will be pulling new players to the game.
I feel this event is more of an attempt to fill another metric goal PWE has set down for Cryptic. By now they must be seeing that many Players have abandoned and deleted alts left and right. This could harm their bottom line since players on alts may be tempted to spend money to get their alts on par with their Mains.
This may also be a means to draw old players and players that recently walked away with DR back to the game.
Either way its another short gap measure to keep the game from sinking any farther. They may be seeing spike purchases around ship releases and even the lockbox/R&D boxes. But something tells me these spike sales are just that. With no sustainment over the life of these offers. They immediately drop off and probably flatline rather quickly.

My alts are all used for farming anyway. I guess I'll just be adding another one. More contraband = happy me.

If you get them invited to another fleet's starbase, they can buy from that fleet's stores using the bank fleet's provisions. The only exception is ships, since they aren't tied to an NPC on the holding but the shipyard UI. So, basically, just do provisioning projects on your bank fleet and you should be able to build up enough credits and provisions to gear them up, since we can invite them to the main fleet's base to buy whatever they need.
