Players are really good at finding the easiest, most efficient ways to earn dilithium. If that means saving the rep bonuses until a dil weekend then the players will do it. The fact that it's possible in game means to me that it's the way it's meant to be played. To then suddenly change it on the day and say that's not the way it's meant to be played is like a mother giving a baby a lollipop just before dropping them off to a babysitter then the babysitter taking it away. The baby was perfectly fine with the lollipop.

I also love the white knights now coming out and saying "oh do the hourly instead, it's a better payout..."
Path of least resistance, and all that. Well, when you start to stick deliberate blocks on that path, and make it take a lot longer... a lot of us are gonna be pissed. It's not about mathematics, it's about convenience.

This was planned well in advanced, I'm pretty sure. And if Cryptic was moderately competent they would have explained that this event was different and told us why before the event went live.
But no, they stayed silent. And then they posted the wrong info, making players believe there was nothing different, sparking the predictable, avoidable and justified outcry from the players.
Then they go to Reddit, not their own official forums, to apologize. Why, who knows?

The suspicious side of me thinks they go to Reddit, Facebook and Twitter just so that if they say something that really hits the fan, they can claim that their account was hacked. Also, the official forums are fairly toxic towards Devs.

...still waiting for my t5 connie
no new nerfs
nerf nerf nerf nerf and nerf some more
at this point i'm under the impression if we could them to make a crappier game they'd do the opposite. just like they've been doing.
