We will all be assimilated suddenly by some god borg and they will rename the game Borg Online. Where we can all be collectively bored by an endless grind for assimilation while paying money to PWE to be able to grind some more assimilations.

That's actually more interesting than some of the story missions...

Altough, cynic stuff aside, the Anniversary update shapes up to be quit good in scope (sure some things are debatable)

But we do get many player requested changes that are very good improvements.

The overhaul of the Boff system is really good, the more I test it out on Tribble, the more I think this is a really awesome quality of life improvement for me. Changes the way I will play my ship quit a bit because it does give me a vastly wider range of possibilities.

The new command spec (sure its a hefty grind) but it is quit the change to gameplay and you can make a really good support character now, opens up some new possibilities for my melee char.

Then we get a small RnD overhaul so we can complete schools faster (sure for some of you its too late, but for me it will help get some of those done faster.)

Also the mysteri announcement on the 26th (who knows what, many guesses are towards DS9 revamp)


Now if Cryptic would lower xp requirements back to what they were so I can actually use the new content... better not dwell on that. 26 points in command for the mk 12 modules.... never ever gonna happen in the next 5 years.

That post ruled out a lot of things... My first theory, when the Anniversary blogs were pointing towards Kobali rather than Borg or DS9, was that it might be the DS9 Under Siege fleet action getting a remaster with a different enemy, but this seems to rule that out a queue mission, too, doesn't it?

I'm kind of at a loss. PVP seems out since the Borg will be there, unless it's a Kerrat clone? That doesn't seem like it'd fit with the direction they've gone with the queues to end the de facto war, but they seem to have ruled out every form of PVE.

Cryptic does have a history of using terms more narrowly than players, so maybe a battle zone or adventure zone that doesn't quite fit the definitions they use?


Crazy, off the wall, oh god I hope it's actually real theory: Asymmetric multiplayer where one side flies their ships and plays by normal rules while the other plays as Borg with special powers and unique rules.
