Hey Soral how's it going. sorry for the late response. Shadow Hunters are a group of Section 31 that are a NINJA type group of Assassin/hunters. And yes I am 1/2 Romulan, and 1/2 Vulcan.

Hey Solo,

Very cool! Sounds like an elite group. Never thought of Ninjas in Star Trek, but then again, why not?! :)

I need to work on my description for my toon, but I'm playing Soral as a 1/2 Vulcan, 1/2 Human (can't beat the typical hybrid there).

Sounds awesome my Fed character Soleta is actually based off a Character in the Star Trek Novels New Frontier who's mother was raped by a criminal Romulan and raised by a vulcan Scientist.

Maybe we can get them into some missions together. I've been working on the Klingon side Starbase build lately as the 12th (Get it 12th Fleet) Host of the Symbiont DAXX.

I have not read any of those novels. I've just gotten into the Typhon Pact series, which honestly is very difficult for me to read. I'm not liking the way the authors have taken the DS9 crew and the way the stories jump back and forth are a bit tough to read. The New Fronter is separate from all of that, correct? Based during the same time period as one of the shows or movies, but yet they are their own storyline? Or is there intermixing with the characters we know and love?

I am a huge Dax fan, so that is awesome! 12th host...have you put together a description on the previous hosts? I would imagine they would be an interesting ensemble.

I've been working on the write-up for Soral a bit. His affection for movies, especially John Wayne movies, is put together and explains why he flies a ship called, "El Dorado." I just need to work on finalizing the background story on his heritage. The 1/2 human is a good reason to explain why I can be very un-vulcanlike :vulcan: at times I am battling the borg. :borg: ;)

Greetings Soral from your friend Soleta and your Allies 12th Fleet. You should try reading the "New Frontier" novel and comic series created by John J. Ordover and Peter David, and primarily written by Peter David. He has away of bringing his stories and Characters to life. no jumping around and the characters are related to the original Star trek characters. Soleta started her career thanks to Spock and Captain Picard. She went to Star Fleet Academy with Worf, and is in the Worf Academy Novels.

Try the first Novel which only introduces the crew but sets the pace for the series, which grows further exciting into the series.

As for Solo DAXX I'm still working on her biography, but it will tie the 12 host through DAXX, and why he's now in the Klingon Empire.

Anyway I'd love to see your writting, I'll have to plan a Diplomacy journey to your fleet site this week.

Soleta,

I will definitely check out the first novel. I'll download it and read it over the weekend while I'm on vacation. I'm a big fan of Peter David's works. I have quite a few of his Star Trek novels. :)

Here's the write-up I have currently for Soral:

A student of history, Soral has studied many cultures and finds the development of primative civilizations to be quite fascinating. He was introduced and became fond of what humans called "movies" in the late 20th and early 21st centuries on Earth. The most intriguing of these were called, "Westerns." One of his favorite titles is "El Dorado" which starred a human actor by the name of "John Wayne." The movie referenced a poem by Edgar Allan Poe:

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.

But he grew old-
This knight so bold-
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be-
This land of Eldorado?"

"Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied-
"If you seek for Eldorado!"

In 2409, Vice Admiral Soral was given command of a Defiant Class warship (Tactical Escort Retrofit). As a special commendation for his past services, the Starfleet Core of Engineers gave him permission to choose the name of his new ship. In honor of the poem and movie, the ship was commissioned with the name" "El Dorado."

The plaque located on the bridge appears as follows:

U.S.S. El Dorado
NX-91066
"Ride, Boldly Ride"

Hello o'le friend your Story is interesting. Sorry I've been busy with City of Heroes lately.

I did register on your UFP site I have a profile now "Soleta" Your Fleetsite is awesome. I could not find your name in the roster for referral though. And your Fleet magazine was well put together. You should checkout the 12th Fleet Magazine "Valhalla Vanguard" if you get a chance, My fleetmates put great love into the pages every month.

Well Keep in touch, I can be found in game on the Klingon side supporting the 12th's Small Klingon Fleet.

Hey Solo, not a problem. I've been away myself a bit the last few weeks. My family has a farm and we're in the middle of harvest, so I've been disappearing at points during the last few weeks to help with that. Definitely a busy time of year.

I just saw your post yesterday on our Forum page. Glad to have you with us there and thank you for the compliments. I know our fleet members in charge of the website and magazine put a lot of time and effort into their craft, so i will be sure to pass along your compliments to them.

Speaking of magazines, I took some time to check out the 12th's magazine. That is very well done! I enjoyed reading through it and bookmarked it for the next issue.

I'm gonna have to find a hardcover copy of the New Frontier book. I was going to get it on my Nook and it isn't available. Well, it is, but the adaptation they put on there of the first 4 books of the series has got such terrible reviews (didn't do a good job coverting it over to the Nook format) that I am not going to waste my money. Been awhile since I've cracked open a hardcover book though, so I will have to give that a go around again.

Oh, if you see a strange friend request when you log in to STO next, that would be me. I sent you a friend invite request in-game. @laportej is my handle.

Greetings Soral from your friend Soleta and your Allies 12th Fleet.

A Farm sounds so interesting and must take a lot of work. I respect you and your family and good luck on the harvest this time of year.

I'm a city girl and currently in my second year in college it's been hard getting online in game but I've been trying out some of the new content for Season 7 on the tribble test server.

I promise to frequent your Fleet site more and help our alliance grow you guys have been so helpful to me on the test server. I passed along your compliments to Cassie the Fleet magazine editor she was thankful, shes a real sweet heart and works hard maybe we could get our editors together someday to collaborate I think Cassie would find that fun.

I have some PDF copies of Star trek novels if you can't find a hard copy of New Frontier I can send you a copy It works on e-books

And speaking of friend request I'll go through them tonight and look for. "@laportej" I tend to ignore friend request as I get so many and I don't have the heart to not Accept them.

Hopfully we can play some of the new season 7 stuff or even some of my friends Foundry Missions Captain Revo's my favorite e specially on the Klingon side. He's such a gentle soul in-game always explaining his Ideals for his Missions when you play them with him. I think he'll one day write a true Star trek story for CBS/Paramount.

Well until later take care

Love Soleta/Solo DAXX

Hello Soleta,

Thank you for the well wishes. Harvest has been a challenge, but we've faired better than I would have thought. We were in some of the areas of the U.S. that didn't get the water like we needed, but we've been pleasantly surprised with how well things have turned out despite that.

Good luck to you in your studies. My college days were not that long ago, so I can still relate to what you're going through. I was glad to be done with them when I graduated, but treasured the experiences I had there. Hopefully the same is true where you're at.

I've tested out some of Season 7 myself and like the new Romulan missions. I haven't had a chance to test Into The Hive, although I've talked to some of our STF Elite group members and they are fairly impressed. They especially like the story element to it, which has me anxious to try it out myself. When we catch up in-game we could possibly try running that or some of those Foundry missions. I always enjoy running those as well and they would be a welcome change of pace from the STFs that I've been running.

I also passed along your comments about our magazine to our membership at our last fleet meeting and they wanted to express their thanks as well. I also really like your idea. Collaboration between our editors would be fun and interesting considering both are creative groups of people. I'll mention that idea and see if they're interested in doing something like that sometime in the future.

I will let you know what I find on the New Frontier book, but I definitely appreciate the offer. If I can't find one, I will take you up on that.

In the meantime, again, good luck with your studies. I'll look for you in-game the next time I'm on.

Live Long & Prosper,

Soral
