Have you tried the PIlot escorts? They are much superior to the T6 Bug. The only advantage it has is the Intel skills.
The pilot escorts are both OP and useless at the same time. pilot bridge officer abilities don't do anywhere near as much damage as any command or intel ships and the don't synergise well with any meta's.

Sure, you'll out turn and out run a bug in a turning battle, but you'll still struggle to kill one.

I prefer the command station over Intel as it makes it a deadly torpedo boat. I need to test more but so far it’s looking to be the most powerful torpedo boat in game. Almost a perfect layout for the style of torpedo boat I use. The only thing I would change is get rid of the sci bridge powers and swap for Eng.

It already had twin nacelles, they were part of the mode change animation (they closed together in tactical mode and spread apart at warp). They switched them to something that looks more like the command cruisers and added the AWACS disc on the top hull.

In the case of the Fed and Rommie variant, all they added was a few lumps and bumps here and there, however the klink is a complete redesign.

Just did my first ISA run in it and its crazy damage. An Eng captain and got 43k as a torpedo boat without buying a 5th tac console, not unlocked Precise Weapon Systems, Enhanced Weapon Banks, Devastating Weaponry or Enhanced Weapon Systems and not swapped over my bridge officers powers as I just did a quick run with my cruiser officers which is far from ideal.

So I gained 15k dps and can get an estimated 5k to 10k more out of it. Already broke 40k dps for the first time and it looks like I can now break 50k with it.

For those that don't have lifetime sub, those are some seriously expensive ships.

I'm going to be running the chimera version for a while to steal it's T6 ability for my other ships (gonna have to suppress my gag reflex whilst using it).

However I will be using the kink and rommie versions as Beam Birds.
I hope the fleet versions come out soon.

That's the whole point, I would think. It's the cherry on top to sell lifetime subs, and at the same time, it's a nice bonus for those who already have them, i.e. a reward for established loyalty. Not bad business sense.

Hope this makes sense its late and I need to head off shortly. Main Specialisation Command. Secondary commando

X2 Tac team, Torpedo spread 3, Dispersal Beta pattern 2 & 3, FaW 2 & 3, Kemocite Laced Weapons 2.

Eng EptW1, Concentrate fire Power 2 and 3
Sci, Haz Emitters 1, Transfer Power to shields 2
Tac officers Romulans for crit bonus.
Sci and Eng Officers Pirates for damage bonus.

Weapons Front Neutronic & Hargh’Peng torpedo's upgraded, Dual Corrosive beam bank and Experimental proton weapons not upgraded. Rear weapons are x2 rear mines upgraded, x1 grav torp not upgraded. The Proton weapon and grav torp are there for the crit bonus and to trigger command Specialisation procs.

Adapted MACO Engine and shield with Undine Deflector.
Consoles, Rule 62, Gell Pack, Dynamic tac System, Bionural Circuits, Assimilated Module, Tachyokinetic converter, x4 Vulnerabilitly Quantum consoles.

Just the common torpedo traits and doffs. Not an ideal build as it was just a rush copy and past from my Cruiser. A lot of room for improvements.

One thing I don't understand is why my torpedo's drain an average of 10k to shields per hit. Its part of the tachyon chargers from the Command Specialisation but not sure how I am boosting the shield drain so high. Getting about 4.5k dps from shield drain somehow. Anyone got any ideas?
