You were somehow expecting this game to narrate like a AAA GotY candidate? Com'on, now. It's STO: licking the heels of the TNG crowd fleeing the stampede of the JJ'brams one, while working in the shadows to placate both. Things making sense in this universe vanished in beta. All this game is to me, anymore, is Dress-Up-Starship™ with fancy lights and pew pew noises, punctuated by periodic events of fun and intrigue. It would seem its critics agree. I'm only still playing it because of the 12th and that this game does sometimes provoke fond memories of Star Trek for me.cmdraftbrn wrote:poor writing.JarekCyphus wrote:cmdraftbrn wrote:hmmm. must be at rock bottom. How'd you arrive at that conclusion?
poor mechanics.
over reliance on gimmick ships and lotto-boxes.
adding timegates and paywalls to just about everything
addition of floptionals with a timegate
over hyping
the real questions that have to be asked just from the "story" standpoint
1. what advances were made in 30yrs to turn the voth into a joke? remember the voth crippled voyager without batting an eyelash.
2. what advance was made to stop the "iconians" from popping up on earth qo'nos and new romulus and just slaughter the entire planet? remember step between the stars. popped up from nowhere murdered two people left a warning and popped out.
3. and then theres the undine, who have agents in upper reaches of government and somehow cant figure out their being played.
1. The Voth crippled Voyager the same way a number of other enemies crippled Voyager and all three Enterprises. In every other use, the crew had a countermeasure ready by the end of the episode, Voyager only faced the problem once and never needed one.cmdraftbrn wrote:poor writing.JarekCyphus wrote:cmdraftbrn wrote:hmmm. must be at rock bottom. How'd you arrive at that conclusion?

Maybe so, but tesseract has also been used in several other books and movies with a lot of them to do with time.Goldy wrote:When they say to check the tesseract, they do know that's from The Avengers, right??
Agreed, enjoy the journeySysil wrote:You guys are taking this way too seriously. The STO storyline has been changed and rewritten so much over the years it's normal it does not make any sense.
Chill out and do the episodes one at a time and don't think too much about it.
