She's too prominent of a political prisoner to quietly lock up. The Federation and Republic will both want to give her a big trial that no matter how much they insist otherwise will be nothing but a stage show and victory lap. The Klingons will want to do horrible and public things to her. And all three intelligence agencies will consider her a key asset since Taris escaped and we have no other Iconian insiders to beat information out of.
