Yep, still a good card. Unless you're gonna play at 4k or ultrawide resolutions then you should be fine. Anything above that and you really want the 980 or at minimum a 290X on the red side. Then again if you have the cash for a 4k monitor then dafuq you doin' buying a cheaper card anyway??? :face:

For real 4k performance though, you really need two cards. 1 card can handle it, but the performance isn't really there. This is for really any GPU out currently. 970 single GPU handles 1600p just fine without any frame drops and in games it has better frames than the R9 290X does.

Whether I will even notice the memory issue, the GTX 970 is a pretty good upgrade over my current GTX 660.

I doubt I will see any performance issues out of the GTX 970. With this card, I am also upgrade my RAM to 32 GB and adding another SSD to move my games off of the OS drive (both are 240GB Kingston's).

If it makes anyone feel better, I still rock a 470 with a high end i7 and tons of ram and still haven't felt the need to upgrade. Lol

My entire PC is built around the processor. That was the most important part to me.

So I have been running the GTX 970 for a while.

Honestly guys, this thing rocks. Running STO at MAX everything, it normally runs about 33-38c and GPU usage peaks around 35%.
