Yeah, there were regular web chats back then, and the fans were very nitpicky about the torpedo count. When the Borg detected too many in Scorpion, a writer even offered to retcon it as a sensor trick, but they never made it canon. In Year of Hell, they said they had 11 left. At that point the fan count was no more than 13 (there was an ambiguous situation where we can't tell how many were actually fired). They used 4 in that episode, but they would have been returned by the time reset, so they still had 11 at the end.Dancamvet wrote:I saw this before. Presumably that's where they stopped caring, because they never gave a count again, and went on to fire 96 of the last 11 over the rest of the series. They did, however, have another dialog line later on where they said they didn't have torpedoes to waste, so the writers didn't seem to have entirely done away with the limitation, they just stopped keeping track.
