Haha, yeah, they may have misjudged the community's reception of that sentence
Still, it will be interesting to see how things change when the sector walls come down...Will Tour of the Galaxy change?
I suppose I should run this once to know how it is now. Never run it.

Pointless update, absolutely no reason or need for it. So we won't run in to a wall and have a 10-20 second loading screen, big whoop. All our transwarp options are going to disappear so we have to take the long route and lower level players trudging along at warp 5 will find it really annoying that they have time to go read War And Peace before getting where they want to go. The sectors are going to be massive and there's absolutely nothing to do there.

I'm with Husker on this. Plus I don't believe this update will come without consequences. 4 minute loading time when you go to sector space? More server load? Worse rubber banding anytime more players than anticipated log in? Instanced sectors?
Cryptic is good at making promises but the execution is always lacking.
I'm prepared to say this to Cryptic: no change means no new bugs. Fix the ones that you introduced with your other unimportant updates before doing anything else.

I am actually scared. With the loss of sector walls band with might become a huge problem with some ppl. Combine that with the rubber banding that already comes with every patch and ships might just sit there like they have no warp core...

Did someone mention pudding?
On topic: I feel very sorry for this new guy as he's inherited a poisoned chalice. He'll have to perform miracles to win the disenfranchised players over.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one myself. I like the idea of not having to transfer sectors any longer, but I would really hate to have long loading times when transitioning or constant rubber banding while there. We'll see how they actually implement it...
