I use the DPS Channel parser as well. Just been using ACT longer. Both work. I just usually use the DPS channel one when I am trying to submit a higher dps run than previously.
So yeah, listen to Husker.

Also, when using CombatLogReader, there is a button in the lower left corner called Mini. This brings up a small box that displays real time dps info (well, as fast as it is written to the log) and keeps it displayed over the game.
Also it has the function to submit the dps score to the league tables, not just for you but for the entire team. It was actually someone else that submitted my 31k Narcine run.
