I am 24 and our fleet admiral is 22 and we have quite a few (one fourth to my understanding) players over 30 with kids, families and jobs. Some of the most active players (they chat a lot) are younger ones but we maintain a mature and respectful atmosphere. Some people may feel lost in the big fleet but I would say that you will always find somebody to talk to here and if not I am always here to be your friend.

Well asking why join in the forums is slightly counter productive. But as stated above to join a fleet (guild) that is ready to go at launch date, will enhance your knowledge and success in the game.

As to the vent info not sure on that. I have a 10 man vent server that a few buddies joining the game with me are going to use but not aware of the main fleet Vent/TS info

We have a range of people aged from 16 to late their 50's. The main reason I would say you would want to join our group is for friendship.

You should know that the 12th fleet strives to be team orientated.

ps. if you join our fleet you will have my loyalty in war and my friendship in peace. You are respected no matter what your MMO experience is or what your history is.

I would suggest you stop by the STO 12th forums and chat with our members. Get to know us. Whether you decide to join us or not I would like to thank you for your interest and your query. thank you

I would not mind hopping on vent and chatting sorry to be ubrupt on my prior post. I am considering 12th or omega pending open beta or launch of the game...

What gaming background does 12th fleet have? What are the plans for sto PVP wise?

Some about me I started playing Ultima Online from 96-2003, Played Earth and Beyond for a few months before it shutdown, Eve online from 2003 Until recently have taken a break, to much involvement with game and got boring somewhat as hitting 60 billion isk not much else to accomplish beside continuing to pvp and lastly a few years of planetside.

I love to PVP and that's my primary goal for STO to kill other players and be successful with a strong fleet with great teamwork and success. I order both pre orders hope i can use both uss conni and borg bo on one account

I am a cougar hunter :p

I have a little Wow experience but, I got bored of it very quick. lol I never even actually bought it. I played a charachter on my friends account to see if I liked the game. It was cool, but for some reason it did not hook itself into me. STO will be different, lol Ive wait for this game since I saw my first show of TNG!!

I have also played alot of Pirates of the Burning Sea. Similar to STO but probly no where near as fun or good.

If you like PVP then I bet you would like to join our Tactical Division or our Maco division. They are our front soldiers for Space and Ground Combat for both PVP and AI stuff.

:o GO NAVY!!!!!!!!!! That is cool! I thought about the military for a very long time, but I ended up deciding on law enforcement. That way I can choose when I take my Vacation and be closer to the family.

Now the only thing that I must say that you may have an issue with is that we dont really do dirty jokes that much unless it is in good taste. We have alot of older members that would be ok, but we do have a few younger ones.
So we try to keep everything somewhat in catagory that is acceptable for them. If you are ok with that you should have a blast with our group..

"I am a cougar hunter :p" heheh  That is rather funny!

Currently as far as PVP goes we want to have a good line of PVP players that are willing to battle against our rival fleets if they choose to attack us. You may also have some fun in game attacking our rivals as we find out who they are. This includes Klingons or any other group that decides to take arms against us ingame.

We are a fleet that does not seek out conflict, but rather peace. However in recent days conflict seems to be stirring despite our goals of peace and friendship.

We may find ourselves defending our fleet's existence and our very lives in STO. hehehe. I will most definately be engaging in PVP when ever possible, but I also want to experience the story throughout the game.

If you are 16, or 116, it doesnt matter. We are all co-operative, active, and always happy to help one another. At 16, being one of the younger (youngest?) members, im glad to be around mature people who actually want to talk and get things done, instead of saying they are "l33t" and calling eachother noobs and getting nowhere. this is the fleet is an example of the finest in Star Trek Online, and it is an honour to serve amongst them.

That, is why you should join :)

The easiest way to get on our vent would be through the banner in my signature.

You were asking about what kind of people we have in the fleet. I can't speak for others, but I can tell you a little bit about myself. I'm 26 honorably discharged from the army.
I love star trek, been playing mmos since back when SWG was good, then some EVE, and WOW.

I started out in shadowbane. It was nothing but pvp all the time. The I started testing WoW in closed beta, I was a big warcraft fan so the fact that they brought the lore to life really pulled me in. I still play. I have a 2355 arena record and A High Warlord title. I love pvp in all its facets.
