Were these in any way close to being in scale with each other I'd seriously consider going for a full KDF set (If they even offer that, so far I've only seen Fed of course)...

If they do any KDF, I'll probably evaluate on a case by case. It'd be good to have a chunky 12' negh'var though.

cryptic doesn't do..... scales.

basically they're foot longs so they can have detail.

they should have dne 3d molds then casted the ships in resin. 3d printing chews up a lot of time and then theres the post process.

but i only skimmed the article. made my own 3d ship years ago as a cadd student. looks a litte crappy, but i love it.

It's not just Cryptic. I don't think there is a ship line out there, for Trek that is, that is in scale. It's one of the reasons I REALLY wish that FFG had gotten the Trek license instead of WizKidz. The FFG X-Wing scaling is pretty darn good, and their Armada line is pretty reasonable though not perfect.

You pretty much have to grab ships from different companies to kind of almost get some stuff in scale.

But, it is what it is. Most people don't need (and often don't care) for their ships to be in scale. This promotion is not about gaming, it's about having a show piece. I want mine in scale for both.
