James and Richard have already said that they will not do Top Gear without Clarkson so the show is basically done. Maybe they will take over Fifth Gear.

I think the best thing for the Beeb to do now would be retire the show until they find a way to bring in the kind of viewing figures that Clarkson et al had. Better to let the show go out on a high than be dragged down by this whole business.

To be fair you can't punch a colleague, even a really annoying one, whatever the reason. He had to go. But it's sad for the show, it won't be the same if it continues. Clarkson is apparently in talks with Netflix though so don't be surprised if a version with a different name with him, Hamster and Captain Slow appears there.
