So I know I am new to the fleet and all that, but as a courtesy to you guys, I'm going to let you in on a little secret....

I am a computer tech. i am certified in Windows 7 through Microsft, I have an A+ cert, and am currently study for an associates degree in Computer and Networking Technology at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, California.

Now I know most gamers, know hardware, and specs, and aren't dumb when it comes to their rigs. But if any of you need help, i will glady help you guys. If you think your infected, want some advice on what card best suits what you do, or what OS does what, let me know.

i can easily remotley connect an dsolve, clean up, cure most infections, and optimize your system

If you don't want me to personally do it, I can offer you some directions.
Just let me know.

Thanks.

Outstanding to hear. I believe some people could benefit from this and I already had my up for tech support.

Actually, theres something you can help me with :)

I recently bought GTA IV for the pc, and checked that my pc could run it before I bought it obviously :D, but I have encountered some rather irritating performance issues. my specs are as follows:

Core 2 duo running at 2.3ghz
4gb ddr3* RAM (*i think its ddr3 anyway)
ATI Radeon 3850 1mb Graphics Card
ASUS P43 Motherboard

now, as far as specs are concerned, I should be able to run the game on mediocre graphics with no real issues. however - The performance, frankly, sucks. When running the game on the lowest settings for everything, including draw distance, i get horrible FPS and complete freeze-ups every 5-6 seconds. I've made sure my video drivers are up to date, checked for corrupted files incase it was a loading issue, Made sure everything was working fine, but still the FPS lagg and freezes. Any ideas?

I'm stumped. :sigh:

hmm reading some quick forums on sites, its seeming theres a general problem with ati and GTA IV. most of the people are saying the game is cpu heavy, and that running a duo core has some issues. Was reading that the 8.12 drivers lol, but those are over year and half old.

Thing is I don't see why the game is so performance intensive to be honest, I easily run other games that should need a higher performance and only require a pentium 4 or equivalent, gta's performance requirement are steep imo

yeah they are, considering it runs the failbox360. what resolution are you running the game at? only other thing I can suggest is going to a lower resolution in the game and see from there.
