Good lord, Husker, that look almost exactly like my old RAF air traffic control headset! Clearly we were ahead of our time.

Yeah, i remember using something similar at the PFA Rally at Cranfield airport. Although i never got on with air traffic control, went back to ground crew. That was back in 1998.

My mistake  I was there in '99, not '98.

Sorry for hijacking Skars.

I use Astra A50 wireless headsets that connect from sound card (must support Dolby Digital Live) through spdif optic cable. The A50s can also be used on my XBOne, X360 and PS3. I understand it works for PS4.

Once you update firmware, as the launch was buggy, it works great. Range of 8-10 meters. Comfy, though some will say it's "heavy." I'll say their heads are too light;)

It is spendy, at $300. However, those here sporting multiple Titans would scoff at it (I have only one Titan). A slightly cheaper wireless alternative is the Skullcandy Plyr1, it's about $150 and functionally the same since Skullcandy bought Astro recently.

In a more realistic range, I would advocate the Logitech 935 wireless. At under $50, I would look I to Creative Fata1ity-branded headsets.

I use a Logitech G430

It's sound is incredible, although it does take a little breaking in. It was a little tight when I first got it, but it seems to have settled in.

I have a low/mid-range Logitech USB headset (I can't check the model right now, sorry), and it's been a solid performer. I'd buy it again. The only strange thing with it is something I think you'll never encounter:

If you have it on a Mac, use it occasionally, and leave it plugged in for several days it'll eventually stop working. If you then unplug it and plug back in, it works again.
