umm , both weapon and engine timers have gone up by fifteen seconds , not five , so every EPT ability is 20 seconds unless im missing something glaringly obvious

Agreed, emergency power to shields isnt supposed to be a healing move, it is supposed to be used as a "Oh ****!" button along with Brace for Impact, the healing benefits from EPtS is miniscule.

My Oddy and all my Science ships have 2x Science Teams to heal my shields twice as fast as a single Science Team, it provides a lot more durability than EPtS, I only use EPtS along with Brace for impact when I see a heavy torpedo volley coming towards me or I get too close to a ship blowing up.

Thats what its supposed to be used for.

I have not tested them yet, but from the description of the patch notes, the bonuses last longer, and having EPtA give a bonus to sci abilities makes it useful to sci captains, if the boost is worth it.

The cooldown is still 30seconds so take Weapons the first 5seconds is the same as before, the next 15 seconds you get 16.6% more damage then from 20 to 30 seconds you lose all the damage you would have had from 30 ish weapon power. Same for engines that 20 to 30seconds timeframe you lose turn rate and speed. So do we really gain that much damage overall? Shields are double hit you lose resistance then you lose more resistance and shield regen from power loss. The problem with EPtA is the boost is so small to be useless.

thats still an increase on what it was previously though , which is what its supposed to be , its never been intended to be a crutch to keep up more dps constantly , its for emergency situations when you need that extra bit of punch

I am not too sure it is an an increase on what it was previously. But I need someone better at math then me to work it out. Are you not losing around 10seconds of around 40% damage boost to gain 15 seconds of around 16.6% damage boost?

EDIT: Assuming its 2% weapon damage per point wouldn’t it be 10 seconds with over 60% damage loss with EptW 3?

What doff is that? I use EptE all the time in my crusier but I was not aware of a doff for it.

Increase to tractor beam resistance when EPtE is running.

It's a strange skill to use though, I wonder what i'll be like with the 20 second duration.

Just tested out the new Power to weapons 2 on tribble.

For 5 seconds the dps is the same.
For 10 seconds I lost 238.1 dps per gun.
For 15 seconds I gained 134.5 dps per gun.

238.1x10=2381.1 DPS lost for those 10 seconds.
134.5x15=2017.5 DPS gained for those 15 sceonds.


So I lose 363.6 dps per gun over 30seconds with the new change. 8 guns means I lose 2,908.8dps over 30 seconds. So this change means my crusier deals less DPS and tank less DPS. Yet the devs said this boosts crusiers?
