VOL. ONE , BOOK ONE , Sub Chapter Three,
The two officers that seemed to be from another planet were taken back who was standing in front of them..The Vulcan man had his back towards them.."Ensign,are you and your friend going to stand and not introduce yourselves or are going to be shy like all other recruits that come aboard this ship"?
Katgato answers up to the Vulcan man in blue.."Sir,we didn't want to say anything to you for the simple reason,that all recruits aboard a federation starship that is at RED alert were to trained by starfleet academy NOT to talk to senior officers during a red alert.".."Ah ,yes general order number 69 section 2 paragraph 3"...As both the raw recruits stood there with amazement that a man of his statute was quoting starfleets general orders,they could not believe it was he..the Vulcan man,who wrote those orders in the federation regulation hand book centuries before either was born."Very well done ensign...I'm glad to know Starfleet has taught you well"..as the Vulcan man continued,"You will go far in the federation with learning such rules during a red alert" ...Some people learn the rules as a recruit or young ensigns severing aboard a ships..The ones who don't, dont have a lasting career in starfleet.
The doors to the turbo lift opened and the man in the blue uniform and pointy ears and who could quote the Vulcan bible from front to back and forwards again , stepped out and into what appaeared to be the BRIDGE of this starship...As Katgato and Sky-ti looked outside the doors with amazement and surprise the Vulcan man,still with his back facing the two,"You know Ensign,Starfleet,is always looking for some great captains to be part of the federation and with some time and effort,you could be one of them"..he continued to walk forward and the doors to the lift SHUT with speed..Hearing a sound of laughing and snickering...
"Sky-ti ,did you hear that"? "What,sir" was her reply.."A strange laughing noise with some snickering, I could hear in the distance of these walls" said Katgato with his ears rotating like satellite dishes trying to get a fix on a signal from a long distance. "It seems to be coming from up there", as Katgato pointed upward with a paw and finger gesture..
The turbo shaft continued to move in a downward motion, then stopped for a second then came to a complete stop..The doors opened and to the two officers observed outside the doors, what appeared to be the engineering deck..They stepped out side the doors and it abruptly closed with a noise of a swissh..The lights were dimmed and some flickering of what looked like sparks of wires and gadgets were coming from the end of the hall..The two walked cautiously down the hall.katgato being a cat-like person could sense of danger..his senses were not noticing anything of of the ordinary...but did show concern for his fellow officer..They both wondered what the hell was going on..why were they on this ship..why did not anyone notice them being of a different race..Why to all the above? Now they're in some strange corridor with the lights flickering on an antique ship that should belong in a federation museum..
Within the Blink of an eye ,the lights went out...Total darkness..except for the discharge of the sparking wires.."Hmm ",said Katgato..."CAPTAIN,WATCH OUT" yelled Sky-ti, as two large beams gave loose above Katgatos head..

As Katgato leaped forward with his cat-like moves to avoid the beam falling on his head. He noticed the something on the beam that was causing the beam to loosen from its structure.
A worm like of mechanical design with a metal finish to it. It stretched for about 20 feet into a small hole into a bulkhead , like a large tentacle from a sea monster of ancient times. The thickness of the long and slender thing was about a foot in diameter humming with a noise and looked like it weigh about 1000 pounds at first glance .
Katgato yelled to his comrade ,Sky-ti to stay back from its waving tentacle motions as it was retreating backwards in to the hole from where it came. Katgato knew they were in danger,from what was his question?..Katgato cat-like senses kicked in and he could sense something was not right..Like a cat on a hallows nite on a fence awaiting the full moon to rise, for all to bake in the full moons brightness of power and mischievousness of the night.
The sense of Katgato,,were like of a radar dish of impending doom and uncertainty,this was one such nights of ,"The shit hitting the fan" as Katgato was thinking..The lights flickered on and off as Katgato retreated to his friends side to regroup his thoughts and tactics of what to do next.
"Sir,look ..down the hall", as Sky-ti yelled to Katgato. Strange looking human-like bodies were walking towards them at the end of the corridor. Walking with a dead in there step ,as to indicate they were ..mabey dead? Katgatos eyes saw something different....The were of BORG design,but more distinct looking as to his memories of starfleet record of them..There design was of mabey early 20th century people with BORG implants and lacked the faster movement of modern borg of Katgato century..The two retreated to near the turbo shaft door to escape which both knew what the outcome would be if they did not run. At first glance it looked as if the borg like humans were coming..For some reason they stopped dead in there tracks, like a toy would stop dead in its tracks from a kid with a control device making it to stop.
"Captain Katgato,I dont understand what is going on here" as Sky-ti said in a quiet and and controlled voice of anger..Katgato's reply was,"At ease commander,we'll get out of this, just like other tight instances we've been in before"...Katgato was himself confused and bewildered to these surrounding in the last 20 minutes from his entry into the turbo shaft..He knew he was a captain of a starship and was prepared for anything and everything the night had to offer. A laughing and giggle could be heard from above both there heads..This time Sky-ti heard it as well as Katgato..The laughing was loud and is becoming to the point of annoying as it continued for what seem hours,but only lasted minutes..
The Borg like humans gathered up parts of the bulkhead that was falling on Katgato's head and retreated back into a room at the end of the corridor. As the last one entered the room, the two curious onlookers of federation persuasion, walked slowly and along the corridors bulkhead toward the room in question to where the borg like creatures entered..
Katgato thought,how strange it was to see them and what were they doing on this Constitution class of Captain Pike ship no less..The lights were still off in this corridor and lights were still flickering on and off..A strange laughing and an Odor of what seemed to be rotting flesh was coming from this room. Both were approaching the corner of the broken door and noticed grey like material and what appeared to be wires and flickering lights lining the edge of the door,like a weeds growing out of control all over the doors entrance. As the two poked there eyes around the corner to get a glance of what was in the room a LOUD THUD came from behind them and a CRASH of chains,like being dropped from the ceiling..
