====The Early Years====

Arsinoe Scienta was born in the year 2204 as the first and only child to Edward Scienta, a commander assigned to Starfleet Command and Marlene Cortham, his El-Aurean wife who was the heiress to the El-Aurian throne. Hearing of their pregnancy the couple was overjoyed, little did they know their happiness would be cut short. Arsinoe had been picked along with several other children to participate in an experiment conducted by a sinister organization. Arsinoe only remembers flashes of the experiments seeing men in black uniforms injecting him with unknown substances and genetically altering him. Upon being injected he reported hearing voices in his head. He disappeared for 3 years. Eventually he was discovered by the Starship Hermes abandoned in a shuttlecraft with little to no air left. They took him to the nearest Starbase and managed to save his life and sever the subspace link with the voices. Tests showed he possessed incredible Intelligence and telepathic abilities but most importantly his cellular regeneration was unseen as he could heal wounds instantly. This was the result of microscopic machines in his bloodstream. He was kept at Starfleet medical for a year where he received the best treatment while the doctors looked for a way to mimic the effects of the devices. During this time it was discovered Arsinoe had gained one more exceptional trait. He required very little to no sleep. Over the years he continued to develop and while he excelled in his classes he had a difficult time making friends no matter how hard he tried. His classmates where often jealous of his successes.

====Driven from paradise====

When Arsinoe was 9 years old there was a political coup on El Auria. A warlord named Gedurian had seized control of the army by assassinating the generals loyal to the Royal family. In the turmoil Arsinoe’s mother and a few family members could escape and set a course for the Federation border asking for assistance. The Federation council debated the issue but decided a military intervention was not an option. A taskforce was assembled with a diplomatic team on board send to mediate. After 6 months the negotiations were deemed a failure. In the mean time the Royal family had gathered what little people they had and staked a claim to an M class planet rich in resources. The Taskforce returned to Federation space but did receive permission to take citizens with them. They managed to rescue nearly 10 000 people but El Auria was lost.

====Starfleet Academy====

In 2218 all this changed when he was admitted to Starfleet Academy at the age of 14. He began befriending most people who followed the same classes and even some of his professors. He focused primarily on his studies getting high grades, he was interested in sciences. Although the work was hard he never complained. Upon entering his 4th year at the Academy in 2224 he was recommended to attend Command school by his fathers friend commander Vrix, an instructor who taught starship maneuvering. He graduates with degrees in astrophysics, exo-archaeology, and exobiology. Edward Scienta was promoted to captain and given command of the USS Copernicus, a small survey ship. Arsinoe decided to accept the offer made by Vrix and in 2223 he graduated 2 years later at the top of his class with the rank of Lieutenant junior grade.

====First Assignment====

He was assigned to the USS Phantom, a Lancaster class heavy Cruiser attached to the taskforce of Rear Admiral Lisabeta "Bouncing Betty" Hammerschmidt as a junior Science officer. On his first mission the ship was tasked to fight its way through a protective screen of enemy ships to capture a Klingon base on Verruca II. With the next ship assigned to border patrol he spends his free time to study Vulcan to impress the Phantom’s Orion communications officer, Lieutenant-Commander Alexa Higgins. He manages to get noticed by her during the next few weeks and they finally go out ending the evening in his quarters. The next morning he wakes up feeling on top of the world though alone. After getting ready for duty he reports to the bridge finding out Alexa left the ship at 06.00 on the transport for Earth. He spends the next few months burying himself in his work volunteering for extra duty shifts. This earns him the attention of Rear Admiral Hammerschmidt becoming one of her aides. A prominent position for an officer with only 1 year of service under his belt. In 2225 the Phantom partakes in combined fleet exercises at Wolf 359 where the ship performs admirably.

====Ambush====

Following the maneuvers at Wolf 359 the Phantom is ordered back to Earth for major maintenance to its propulsion systems. 2days afterwards communications picked up a signal from a Federation convoy under attack by a Klingon cruiser. The Admiral ordered an immediate course change and it was not long after we caught up with the Klingon aggressors. Upon arrival there was no convoy to be seen but instead we found 5 Klingon cruisers pounding down the Phantoms shields. The distress signal was a fake in order to lure us here. The commander of the Klingon ships, a general Korvat who wanted to take revenge for Verruca II. Their mistake, a volley of the Phantoms phaser array’s made quick work of the less sophisticated Klingon shields and the first one of their cruisers would never see Kronos again. The battle lasted for over an hour, eventually we managed to get the Klingons to withdraw and not a moment to soon. We suffered hull breaches on all decks and where venting atmosphere, we where operating on partial main power. We alerted Starfleet and reinforcements where dispatched to deal with the remaining Klingons before they could reach the border. Meanwhile the Phantom was escorted back to Earth. The ship would need to undergo extensive repairs and Rear Admiral Hammerschmidt transferred to Starfleet Command’s operations department. For my reward in the fight with the Klingons she promoted me to full lieutenant and assigned me a post at Starfleet Command’s Tactical department. During my time there I spend every free moment to study weapons systems in the hopes of transferring to tactical and increasing my versatility. In 2227, nearly 2 years after the Phantom I requested a transfer to an active vessel and sought out my old commanding officer now Vice Admiral Hammerschmidt. She said she would do what she could. I expected to be assigned to the Phantom again but to my surprise I was assigned to the USS Aldrin, a new light cruiser of the Valley Forge class as the tactical officer under captain Vrix, an old friend of my fathers and a former instructor at the academy.

====Into the Fray====

Our first mission took us to the borderline worlds where several miners disputed each others claims to the asteroid ring containing Dilithium. Upon arrival we detected several armed transports approaching the habitat ring of their rivals. All attempts to contact them failed. Finally the captain had no other choice and ordered me to open fire at the ships destroying them. Afterwards we stayed for some time to stabilize the situation and headed for Alpha Centauri to pick up a diplomatic attaché for a conference on Vulcan. However we did not get far as we became under attack by Nausican raiders who according to our esteemed passenger must have been hired to kill him. We managed to push them back and reached Vulcan space. I was relieved to hear our next duty would be to conduct scientific research in the Laurentian sector. A welcome change after all this fighting. It was not until 2229 that we would be ordered back to Earth for minor maintenance thereby ending our scientific duties. The crew received 3 weeks leave and I decided to spend the time at the headquarters in San Francisco visiting my parents. My mother still claims to know the location of a planet where to settle the new El Aurian nation. Does she mean the few thousand survivors?

====A not so honorable fight====

At the dawn of 2230 the Aldrin set a course for the Romulan Neutral zone to patrol the Federation side. We have been picking up increased Klingon activity along their side of the Romulan Empire. Starfleet is concerned about possible Klingon incursions on Federation territory and we have been ordered to investigate. after 2weeks however we did not posses any leads and where ordered to resume regular duty. It would be a mistake, after 4 months of patrol duty we picked up a large Klingon force heading for the nearby colony of Carbaya. Though we where horribly outnumbered we were ordered to protect the citizens at all costs. Our first officer pleaded with captain Vrix to fall back for reinforcements but he would not divert from his orders. The Klingon cruisers pounded on us all together, is this the “honorable combat” they claim to hold in such high esteem? Our shields where penetrated after mere minutes. A plea to surrender was rejected and people around me where dying. Our first officer was the first one, he got hit by a falling bulkhead. With the situation seeming hopeless the order to evacuate was given. I headed down to the shuttlebay after setting a collision course with the nearest Klingon cruiser. Most of the shuttles where shot down but I managed to land in a small field on the surface. In the sky I saw a massive explosion, the Aldrin was no more. Starfleet managed to push the Klingons back but for most of the crew it was to late. Besides my shuttle only 2 others had made it to the surface. Captain Vrix who was on board when we impacted the field was badly injured and was assigned a desk job. As for myself I wanted to get away from everything and applied for a secluded post in 2231

====Solitude====

I was assigned to a communication array on Andoria’s 3d moon with nobody else to keep me company then an Ensign fresh out of the academy. Caroline Porter, a nervous girl with an interest in linguistics and Denobulan culture that had never left the confines of Earth before this assignment. After the death of my friends on the Aldrin I did not want to talk to anyone, but I also knew that on assignments like this all you have is each other, without some contact you go insane. When the months passed I had told her why I had requested this assignment and she came to see me as a mentor. In 2232 when we where relieved I had a difficult time getting used to live in a crowded area again. Meanwhile plans had been set in motion to send an expedition led by my family to the so called chosen planet for the El-Aurian people. Somehow she got her hands on 8 retired Paris class cruisers witch had been refitted to carry additional cargo and settlers. With my father on deep space assignment the task fell to me to accompany the convoy, a trip that would take months. Impossible since I had not enough leave to take up. After mediating with the Federation council my mother had used her influence and procured a Starfleet ship to accompany the convoy to its new home, the USS Lysander, Valley Forge class. I was offered the position of science officer but refused much to the fury of my family. Instead I went on to teach Astrophysics at Starfleet academy and was promoted to Lieutenant-commander.

====A people’s hope ====

In 2233 I had settled in on Earth and was enjoying teaching the finer points of astrophysics to fresh cadets. I had received news the convoy had reached the designated planet rich in precious metals. Mining drones and a primitive camp was set up. The 8 former cruisers would patrol the system. Because of the value of the materials the Federation send emissary’s to negotiate for its sale. They where however not the only interested party. Terra as the new colonists had come to call their world lie on the crossroad between the Romulan and Klingon empires just inside Federation space. Not exactly prime real estate my ancestors would have said. In 2234 I was assigned to the USS Aelita as a special consultant during the negotiations since I was the only member of the family still living in Federation space. We reached Terra in a few weeks, to soon I thought remembering the last time I saw my family. Unjustified fears it turned out as I was warmly greeted. The Klingons where also interested in the supplies though not by trade and the Romulan empire had secretly contacted us as well. They offered us matter/antimatter reactors, a shield that could encompass our entire colony and a sophisticated sensor array and mining equipment, in addition they would provide medical supplies and a Romulan Garrison to keep the peace. The Federation team matched the offer and threw in a central computer unit to run the colony. The negotiations lasted for weeks with the Federation and Romulans constantly matching each others offers. My family rejoiced as this meant a brighter future for their people. Finally the Federation managed to win the battle though the price was high. In addition to matter/antimatter generators, a planetary shield, A colony central computer, a sensor array we received medical supplies, 50 phaser turrets, 10 shuttlecraft and 50 Penguin class fighters. A Starfleet research outpost would also be constructed in the newly planned city, a home as great it can rival any other making 2235 a proud year in my family’s history.

====Space patrol====

I decided to stay on the USS Aelita witch was assigned to guard the Terra system as its science and second officer since the officers who held the job before me where transferred to the new science outpost. We received a distress call from a Gorn ship under attack from a Klingon D5 battle cruiser. The Aelita was able to fight them off and transporting the Gorn survivors on board before their ship exploded. We set course for the Gorn border, how the Klingons where able to overwhelm the Gorn’s systems so fast remains a mystery. 3days later someone was discovered breaking into the ships computer. Upon confrontation the Gorn managed to escape severely wounding the security team send to apprehend him. We stopped him while he attempted to reach the shuttlebay. He denies having anything to do with the sabotage to his people’s ship and was turned over to the Gorn authorities a week later. The rest of the year remained uneventful and at the dawn of 2236 we where stationed in the Tellar system doing routine supply and patrol missions, Meanwhile the captain was due to retire in 2 months, under normal circumstances it would fall to the ships first officer to assume command but he denied for reasons unknown. Over the next week speculating about who our new commanding officer would be was all we where doing.

====Opening up old wounds====

After months we still had no idea and it was time to head for Earth. The welcoming detail had been prepared and I had volunteered to meet our new commanding officer. I will never forget the moment those doors opened and I felt an uncomfortable feeling creep up on me. The person standing in front of me, my new commanding officer was none other then Alexa Higgins. After the ceremony I headed for my quarters determined to file for a transfer to the first available post, a garbage scow if need be. Faith intervened, my new captain asked for a meeting in her ready room to set some clear rules. I felt my stomach turn while she gave a speech about the benefit of the command chain. I just nodded; the faster this would be over the better. I requested my transfer but she denied it saying the loss of another senior officer at this time would cause ships efficiency to suffer, she was probably right but I didn’t care. I felt myself falling back in all too familiar patterns burying myself in work. Meanwhile the ship was starting to gossip why the captain and I didn’t get along. If only they knew. The new year was right around the corner and we where ordered to proceed to Wolf359 to partake in combined fleet exercises. This presented me with the golden opportunity to call in a favor with an old friend, retiring Admiral Hammerschmidt. I explained to her the situation with my current captain and as a final favour she would get me transferred away from the Aelita.

====Homestead====

I was transferred to the Terra system as the Starfleet outpost’s astrophysics department head. After the journey I settled in and enjoyed spending time with my family. I hardly recognized the city since I left, the primitive camp had been transformed in a swirling metropolis with towers reaching as high as they eye could see, lush rivers flowing through the landscape of blooming green meadows. 2238 was a year of utter tranquility. The stations commanding officer, Captain Stoy Aaraka was a capable officer with deep respect for my people’s struggle to rebuild their civilisation. He and I became good friends over the years and we both pleaded with Starfleet command to increase funding and personnel in order to expand the outpost to include several new laboratories and perhaps a communications station. It took us 3 years but in 2341 Starfleet had approved the plan. Meanwhile captain Aaraka had been offered command of the USS Pyotr Velikiy by an old friend of his, Admiral Shrelev. I was offered the position as first officer and a promotion to commander if I wanted.

====the frontier====

This new ship was showing itself to be a capable and reliable vessel in service with the 4th fleet, the former command of commodore Robert April. We were ordered to undertake a survey mission beyond the Hammadi-Burke Hollow, an area of dense interstellar matter impenetrable to long-distance sensors. We charted 15 star systems and made successful contact with two newly warp capable races, the Laag and the Konnir. During speed runs in interstellar space the ship even reached warp 8.1, a new record for Starfleet ships. Meanwhile my family had hired a division of engineers to construct a shipyard and a large starship design bureau to develop and construct new transport and mining ships. 3 new company’s where started, Terra transportation, Terra shipbuilding enterprises and Terra mining inc. The goal was to provide an alternate means of income then selling off the systems natural resources by mining other systems, transporting the goods back to the home world and construct ships for the Federation entrepreneur. A plan that could potentially make Terra a major player in the Federation.

====A time of change====

In 2243 we where ordered back to Andoria for a refit with a revolutionary new duotronic computer system. Meanwhile command had bowed to public pressure and the Pyotr Velikiy class would see 5 more heavy cruisers constructed. As soon as the updates where completed we set a course for Coridan to pick up the Federation ambassador who had been extradited in disgrace, he faces charges for bribery, extortion and murder. His Orion employers will surely want him silenced making an attack quite likely. We proceeded ahead at maximum warp when the ship was suddenly hit with an explosion. A number of unidentified objects decloaked ahead. Suddenly the ship trembled with consoles exploding all around us. We had entered a cloaked mine field. The sensors picked up 3 Orion corsairs behind the 4th moon of the system heading straight for us. With the road ahead blocked with mines we proceeded backwards facing the corsairs straight on. As their disruptors drained our shields and stripped away the ships new hull we managed to destroy one of the raiders but quickly lost the phasers. Captain Aaraka was wounded by an exploding console and had to be carried to sickbay. I ordered helm to take us into the nearby asteroid cloud and engineering to prepare to jettison the warp core. As we navigated the dense field I explained my plan to the rest of the bridge. When coming around a large asteroid I gave the signal and we ejected the core, when the corsairs came from behind the asteroid Tactical fired a torpedo exploding the core. The effects where exactly as I was expecting. The corsairs where destroyed. We navigated out of the asteroid field and contacted Starfleet for a towing vessel. I headed to sickbay to check up on my captain to present a report only to get the question: what did you do to my ship? We where towed back to spacedock and received a new warp core. We did however not get that far.

====the battle of Donatu V ====

Instead we where escorted to Donatu V. in 2244 sensors picked up an advancing Klingon armada alerting all possible ships in the area to assist with the defense of Federation space. It was a fierce fight and the Pyotr Velikiy performed admirably though the ship, still not fully recovered from the last mission was badly damaged and might possibly be scrapped. The surviving crew was transported back to Earth and I awaited my next assignment. Word reached me that the new cruiser type named “constitution” was nearing completion. Getting an assignment aboard one of these ships would be difficult but not impossible. I requested to be assigned to the USS Constitution. Sadly my request was denied and I was asked to perform an inspection of the Starfleet facilities on Tarsus IV. The Constitution, finished in 2245 left spacedock without me. I carried out my orders and was assigned as the new commanding officer of the small base.

====Tarsus IV ====

During my stay there I met a 12 year old boy, imagine my surprise when it was the son of George Kirk, A man who saved over 800 lives and a legend among some officers. I started spending time with the boy who was eager to learn more about space. A subject I was more then eager to speak about. Over the next months I tried my best to answer his questions and even offered him a tour of the base. those where the quiet times before the storm, the next year a terrible sickness broke out that decimated large parts of the colony, the Governor of Tarsus IV, Kodos wanted to use old style eugenetics to settle the situation. We tried to fight but he had all of my officers arrested, a few of us managed to hide away as that monster exterminated half of his colony. When the relief ships arrived shortly after there was no sign of him, the “executioner” had escaped.

====Disgraced====

At the dawn of 2247 I was recalled to Earth to justify the loss of my men during the massacre of Tarsus IV. Though I was assured by my defense attorney it was not my fault I felt all hope slowly die away when I entered the courtroom, presiding over the meeting was none other then Fleet Captain Alexa Higgins. According to her I intentionally stood by and let over 4000 colonists die trying to save myself. Although they had no evidence it was not long before I was considered the coward of Tarsus IV. Bending under public pressure Starfleet command had little choice but to discipline me, even though I was totally innocent. I was stripped of my rank and court martial led. With nothing left to do I stood there in the court room a broken man with one word in his head, Justice. Following the fall out of the trial I was no longer comfortable to live on Earth, instead I boarded a transport headed for Terra to take my place in the planetary government. My family was outraged, they halted their application for Federation membership and started to receive representatives from other powers, even the Klingons. This had the outcome of angering Starfleet who withdrew its patrol in the system. Meanwhile I was busy tracking down the other survivors in order to get them to testify. This eventually worked and the case was reopened. The process was dragged on for 2 years but I was exonerated, some planets even spoke of the Hero of Tarsus IV, he who saved 9 people from the genocide. In addition fleet captain Higgins had become a disgrace to Starfleet; she was demoted to commander and reassigned to a Starfleet outpost at the edge of known space. They offered to reinstate my commission and promote me, even offering me command of one of their newest ships, the USS Hood. An offer I happily accepted. And so we find ourselves in 2249.

====the first Command====

Space, the final frontier, these are the voyages of the starship Hood, its continuing mission, to seek out new life and new civilisations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. Nothing compares to that first moment you walk through those doors, an enthusiastic young officer announcing “captain on the bridge”. You look around with pride as you go and sit down in the big chair. You never want another post. The USS Hood was of the new Constitution class starships and had been outfitted with the new duotronic computer systems. For the next 2 weeks the ship will receive its supplies and crew. Caroline Porter, the young Ensign who I met years ago has also joined me to take up the post of my communications officer. I was rather hoping I could pick my own crew but Starfleet command assured me I got some of the finest officers in the fleet. We will see. Meanwhile I am awaiting my new first officer, The Andorian commander Thelin. The Hood has orders to head for the newly established neutral zone. Our orders are to escort a mining convoy heading for an asteroid field in the Archanis system. While there are still rogue Klingon factions opposing the recent treaty Starfleet command has deemed this a low risk mission. Meanwhile I have offered an invitation to the mining ships captains for dinner. I hope I can ease some of their concerns about operating so close to Klingon space, the evening ended in partial success though some captains remained concerned. As expected the mission proceeded fine, the Hood would remain patrolling part of the Zone in case a rogue house would decide to attack.

====Axanar====

In the year 2250 while the Hood was on patrol a conflict had broken out at the site of the Axanar's homeworld, involving the United Federation of Planets, Starfleet and Captain Garth of Izar. With the situation escalating a number of ships where pulled of patrol duty and instructed to assist fleet captain Garth. I filed an official protest that it was irresponsible to leave whole sectors of the border unguarded. The action captain Garth took would become required reading at Starfleet Academy. For participating In the following peace mission the crew of the Hood where awarded the Palm Leaf of Axanar. My ship will remain in orbit of the homeworld to conduct repairs suffered during the battle before heading out for its next assignment.

====The 2 year mission====

After the repairs where completed in 2251the USS Hood was ordered to the border of Federation space with orders to explore the unknown frontier. A mission Starfleet had devised not only to expand the Federation’s knowledge but to test the claim that Constitution class starships could be independent for a period of 2 years. (note, in order to advance the years more faster some parts are to be kept vague and written out later in more detail)
Our first duty is to pick up a party of delegates at Archers planet who we are to deliver to the planet Qtcha cha, a former conquered planet on the edge of Klingon space. The system requested assistance to ensure their independence as a Federation protectorate. When the chief ambassador gets murdered all evidence points to the Hoods new tactical officer. But not all may be as it seems.

After finishing the diplomatic talks in Qtcha cha the USS Hood is tasked to analyze the termite species on Loracus prime. At first the mission goes as planned but when 6 members of the away team lapse into a coma including the captain it is up to commander Thelin to find out if one of the 5000 subspecies is responsible, leaving Caroline Porter in command.

After their 6 month planetary research mission to Loracus prime the Hood is traveling to the planet Mantilles to partake in the celebrations of the colony’s expansion. The mission is delayed when the Hood receives a distress call from the Tal’Kir, a Vulcan ship presumed lost 100 years before.

The USS Hood arrives at the planet Mantilles just in time for the opening ceremony giving the crew some time off. Doctor Plax receives some happy news while captain Scientia settles a score with an old foe once and for all.

A terrible plague breaks out on Merak II; the USS Hood is assigned to transport the much needed medical supplies but Captain Scientia must choose between his duty as a Starfleet officer or his loyalty to his people when Terra is under attack from the Klingons.

After combating the plague on Merak II the Hood is diverted to the Terra system so they can oversee the repairs to the planet. Meanwhile the El-Aurian royal family has filed an official protest to the Federation council that draws enough support to lead to a surprising change.

While the Hood engineers are allowed to examine the captured Klingon cruiser Captain Scientia has a chance to spend some time with his family.

Following up on the investigation of the D6 cruiser captured in the recent attack on Terra the Hood is ordered to uncover a Klingon intelligence outpost located in the neutral zone. But upon entering the system the ship finds that it received more then bargained for.

While charting a sector of unexplored space the Hood encounters a planet witch contains a civilization identical to ancient Rome. When the captains away team gets captured they are left to fight for their lives in the arena. The team must find a way to reclaim their lost equipment and avoid violating the prime directive.

While celebrating the first year of their mission the crew of the USS Hood picks up the remains of the USS Venera, a Deadalus class starship. The crew discovers the ships data recorder and relives the final days before the ships ultimate end.

The USS Hood is instructed to assist the Federation archeology team on Teerza prime. The mission proceeds well and commander Thelin introduces captain Scientia to his wife who is leading the team.

During a patrol along the neutral zone the ship discovers a staging ground for a Klingon fleet bend on attacking Federation space. The Hood teams up with the USS Enterprise in the hopes of stopping the raging armada.

After dealing with the klingon invasion force the USS Hood is bound for Wrigley’s Pleasure planet where the crew can enjoy some much needed time off.

When an explosion kills 37 crewmembers of the Hood captain Scientia launches an investigation that leads to the hearth of the Federation itself.

After exposing Admiral Westworth’s treason the Hood is once again send to patrol the neutral zone. Only hours after arrival the ship is attacked and crippled by a Klingon battlecruiser under command of Klaa’ch of the house of Duras.

The USS Hood is requested to attend fleet maneuvers in the Laurentian system where Captain Scientia has a chance to see Commodore Vrix. An old friend of the family.

====the return====

After completing its 2 year mission the Hood is welcomed back to Earth, Meanwhile back home the construction of the starbase is proceeding quite well. Planetary infrastructure that was damaged has been repaired and improved. The crew received a few weeks shore leave before heading out for our next assignment. Starfleet command needs a new commander for starbase 24 located in my home system Terra. By request of the royal family I am to be assigned to the post with the Hood assigned to protect the system. Since my departure 27years ago a lot has changed. The Vulcan crew I rescued last year have settled in well, Because of the need to rebuild our civilization every family has almost a dozen children. What started as a colony of only 11000 survivors we know number around the 132000. The mining and transportation corporations had made the Imperial family insanely rich. This wealth is used to better the life standard of the population, purchase new technology and rights to mine more systems. In 2254 the star base was completed and I settled in to my new office. Since the original outpost was destroyed Starfleet maintains a new research facility on the planet investigating data from deep space probes along with the facility there is a sensor and communications array increasing the planets importance to the sector. Repairs of the shipyard are proceeding well and there are plans in existence to expand them.

====Orion’s Greed====

Since the time of the first Earth-Romulan war the Orion syndicate has been setting up bases in Romulan space. So far their raids have spared us but recent reports indicate the Orion raiders are advancing their operations closed to the Terran system. In 2255 Starfleet command received reports from their border stations monitoring Romulan space of an attack on the Romulan colony of Trivash located in the nearby sector. It was not long after that Orion raiders scouted the Terran system looking for new targets, the Hood managed to destroy the first party of raiders but was forced to retreat. The space station’s completed phasers managed to drive them off. In order to discourage future raids I have requested for additional ships to be send though so far Starfleet command has denied the request saying there are no available ships. The El Aurian government is considering hiring Nausicans to bolster the defenses. A plan I strongly object to. Meanwhile the Royal mining consortium has negotiated a treaty with Coridan to provide mining equipment in exchange for half the yield in Dilithium crystals. This agreement greatly strengthens the influence of the El Aurian royal house across the Alpha Quadrant.

====A daring plan ====

In 2256 the Klingon chancellor was assassinated leading to a short 2 month civil war with the houses with most power fight for control. The Orion situation continues to escalate with the recent fight near the Elbow of Bootes between raiders and the USS Boxer and USS Dolphin. With the increased thread for Klingon raids Starfleet has put its border stations on yellow alert expecting an attack soon. Meanwhile my family has send a ship to Nausican territory with a mission to negotiate for some mercenary ships. A discision not to popular in the eyes of the Federation. A team of El Aurian/Federation scientists have been studying the cloaking device captured along with the cruiser that attacked Terra a few years ago. Starfleet Command has thought up a daring plan, I am to take command of Klingon ship and take it behind enemy lines to gather intelligence on enemy fleet movements. I don’t think I ever drank as much coffee in a few days then during that mission but we managed to safely return to the Terran system. With the missions success Starfleet Command has offered me a mission that should I accept is certain suicide. After undergoing cosmetic surgery along with a small team of officers we would be dropped behind the Klingon lines posing as survivors of the recent battle. When we get rescued by the Klingons we will be taken to their nearest base and from there we can travel to Kronos. The plan is to form a small Klingon house and return to duty in the Klingon defense forces with the purpose of gathering Intelligence and technology.

====The House of Scientia====

Its seems our background story almost failed us but we managed to make it through the interrogation. We were picked up by the IKS Duq cha, an old D5 cruiser on route to Ty Gokor. From there we should be able to catch a ship to the Klingon homeworld to start our mission. A few weeks passed before we reached our destination. My officers and I were split up and assigned to various Klingon ships. I myself have been assigned as a tactical lieutenant on board a D6 cruiser. The captain and first officer don’t seem to like having me on board. I got into a fight yesterday with another Tactical officer and was forced to kill him. My proficiency with a Bat’leth is improving and I have come to earn the respect of some of the crew. A few months later I challenged the ships first tactical officer to a fight and defeated him. I am not enjoying this mission but at times one has to do extreme things for the greater good. I gathered the movements of all Klingon ships in the sector and used my new assignment to download the schematics of Klingon Disruptors and Photon torpedo’s. Now I need to get off this ship and deliver the information to Starfleet, and perhaps keep a copy for my people to develop similar weapons, The starbase’s protection does not cover the entire planet and disruptor cannons can increase the systems defense. In 2257 I managed to steal a shuttlecraft and return to the Federation border. I was almost shot down by an overzealous Starfleet tactical officer looking for personal glory. Fortunately the captain was a more curious person and had my shuttle tractored in for investigation. Something tells me this is not my last intelligence mission.

====Convoy duty====

After my return from the Klingon mission I resumed my old posting in the Terra system. Starfleet was most pleased with the recovered information, unfortunately some of my colleagues where discovered and will never return to their homes. The El Aurian Mining consortium, transport consortium and shipyards are providing the Royal family with incredible wealth. Some of which is being used to construct a large research facility with an astrophysics, engineering, medical, sensor, communication and tactical department, all personnel working in the Starfleet base will be reassigned. Construction will also start on a large energy complex capable of powering the planet and the orbital shield, to assist with the latter 4 support stations will be constructed on other continents. A weather device has been purchased from the Risans and a new colony computer will be provided by the Federation. This will all require to be transported in a large convoy that has been assembled during the last 4 months. The mission itself will require 5 more months and will take me away from the Terra system. It should be a routine mission of picking up and delivering supplies.

====Reflection====

With our mission under way I find time to refresh my languages and study Andorian, in addition to this I have cleared 10 empty crew quarters and turned it into a private cargo bay. 10 more will be converted in a small arboretum for the crew to relax and an additional 10 will house a new multipurpose laboratory. 2 weeks down the road we encountered a Saurian freighter interested in selling supplies. I managed to procure 14 cases of Saurian brandy, that should let this mission go faster. 2258 is almost upon us. I have invited my senior officers for a Christmas dinner. As expected our mission continued to run smooth except a minor skirmish with some Nausican pirates. We are almost at the Risa system where I will transfer command of the Hood to my trusted first officer, Commander Fleeza.

====Jama’horon====

Upon entering the Risa system the Hood transported the weather control device to its main cargo bay. I have packed my possessions and am ready to beam down to start some much needed relaxation. I unpacked and decided to go out looking for some fresh food, there is a restaurant famous for its seafood right on the beach. After a magnificent lunch I decided to explore the center with a few market stands. My interest was piqued at a small shop selling wooden artwork that a lot of the other visitors seemed to carry. I purchased 1 and decided to head home. Over the next few days I was amazed at the attention I received from the Risian women, this truly is an open minded culture though I admit some suggestions made me raise an eyebrow. 6 days after my arrival I met the occupant of the house besides mine, it was an Orion named Sravka who claimed to be a merchant. He explained to me the artwork I had bought was called a Horg’han and that it was used to let the Risian people know you where seeking Jama’horon. I decided to leave the sculpture in my room from now on, Sravka showed me around Risa witch he seemed to know better than me. We had a few ales when all of a sudden we were ambushed by 3 Nausians who I thought where just looking for a fight. It seemed they knew my new friend Sravka well who seemed to be more than a simple trader. The fight was not an easy one but we managed to get away in one piece. Sravka felt indebted to me and explained he sometimes trades more than the standard items. He swore he would be forever my servant and would reward me. A week later the Hood arrived back in orbit. After settling back in my quarters I invited my officers for another dinner explaining my events while on vacation.

====The gift====

The mission turned out to be a success and the convoy made it back to the Terra system without any loss. As expected the mercenaries hired before the Hoods departure had arrived and seem to have established a base on a nearby asteroid. I hope this does not prove to be a strategic mistake as I don’t trust those Nausicans for anything. The crew of the Hood will receive shore leave on the planet’s surface while I catch up on my paperwork. Things returned to routine for the next few weeks, the planet was attracting more and more traders from all across the Alpha Quadrant and the Klingons seemed to think we were not worth the trouble. About a month after the return to Terra an recent friend had arrived in the system, The Orion merchant Sravka hailed the station and requested to beam in with his companions. Upon materialization I noticed he travelled with 3 amazing women. He explained that according to his culture he must repay me for saving his life and as a Starfleet officer I cannot refuse without insulting him and his whole race. He claimed the women were a gift for me. I tried explaining Starfleet does not allow slavery but he was not swayed. Finally I accepted the woman planning to free them after he left. I offered him a glass of Saurian brandy, it seems he was here for another reason then repaying me. He wants to hire some storage buildings in the main city but my people tend to shun all outsiders from settling. He hoped I could pull some strings and in return I would receive a part of the profits and he could help me find items for the city’s use. Seeing the benefit this deal could bring I accepted and managed to get him the needed permits. After our deal was concluded he left. I set out to free the women as I intended but they refused and threatened to commit suicide if I refused them. Seeing I had no other choice to accept I let them stay on board as my personal yeomens.

====An old friend====

In 2259 the construction of the surface research center and starbase was completed, the grand opening was scheduled to be in 2 weeks. Among several high ranking Starfleet officers the Federation had send a team of negotiators to see if Terra was interested to join the Federation as full member. One notable person attending was Richard Daystrom, the inventor of the Duotronic computer system, with him was apparently a mutual friend, Retired Admiral Hammerschmidt who I knew from the start of my career, a person that had been a mentor and a friend for many years before she retired from active duty almost 20 years ago. She explained to search for a place to grow old in peace, away from the busy life on Earth. Though the policy of the Royal house is not to allow strangers to settle perhaps it was time to change those ways. A new law was passed that enabled settlers from other species to settle here after their application was approved. Admiral Hammerschmidt became the first non El Aurian settler since the founding of the colony with the exception of the Vulcan survivors rescued many years ago.

====The time for change====

With the recent changes to the law and constitution a precedent was set and El Auria was receiving requests from all over the Quadrant. The Federations offer of membership for Terra was rejected witch had some curious effects. The Orions wanted to include the Terra system in their Earth – Qo’Nos merchant line and establish a small trading outpost on the surface and we received applications for settlement from a few hundred people. What was most remarkable was that the Klingon empire had send a request to establish an embassy. A request that was approved after a long heated debate. As a reply the Federation also requested to establish an embassy on the surface. In the future my people can debate in conflicts should there be a need for it. In 2260 the second hand ships my people procured from the Federation years ago are scheduled to be decommissioned in following years. Starfleet has promised to assign 6 new Medium cruisers of the Miranda class to the system in exchange for new mining and transport treaties as well as opening up the system for limited colonization. The number of colonists will remain at my family’s discretion. The Nausican mercenaries will be relieved of duty and send home.

====The next generation====

With my people moving away from the old ways a group of them wishes to enlist in Starfleet, as nobody can go to the academy without the recommendation letter from a command level officer (note this applies to recruits outside the Federation) I have taken it upon myself to screen the interested youth and write a recommendation. I am happy to report that 46 people will study to become a crewmen on Federation starships and 11 will attend at the academy next year. Meanwhile I yearn to get back into space and have requested Starfleet reassign the Hood back to more active duty. Starfleet approved the suggestion and appointed commander Feezal as the space stations new commanding officer. The Hood meanwhile will return to regular duty, first off we are instructed to explore the Garro VII system for signs of intelligent life. So far the first signs only show empty space and asteroids.

====The Pandronians ====

After the initial survey yielded nothing the USS Hood encountered an advanced space faring race from the planet Pandro. We established first contact protocols. I beamed down to the surface with an away team and explained we where peaceful explorers from the United Federation of Planets. I must admit to being nervous at my first contact situation. A few days after that we resumed our exploratory mission while I prepared a report to send out to Starfleet informing them of our success. Meanwhile the crew is organizing a performance of Shakespeare’s King Lear. I t will be my first and last performance, I have been relieved of command and transferred to Starfleet Headquarters as the assistant to admiral Iota.

====Headquarters====

After settling into my new home here on Earth I headed out to report to Admiral Iota. He was an officer renown for his arrogance and self righteous attitude but earned his stars in the last Kzinti conflicts. After completing the introduction I headed for my office to get a head start on things. First thing I noticed was my predecessor must not have been a hard worker judging by the number of files that still needed to be handled. What seemed somewhat odd was that the admiral had a private subspace channel set up that nobody was allowed to answer. Curious as I am I tried to track it one time but with no success. Over the next few months into 2261 the private messages increased sparking curiosity not only with myself but my team as well. At the same time there had been several raids committed by the Nausicans in the Regulus sector. What was strange was the raiders knew Starfleet’s fleet deployments, it was like they where a step ahead of us at all times.

====Suspicions====

For several raids it seemed Starfleet was useless at stopping the incursions into normally friendly space. The starship Exeter was send to investigate and managed to capture a few crewmembers from a Nausican frigate that was attacking a transport convoy. They reported the location of their base of operations, perhaps some answers can be found there. The Exeter was instructed to team up with the Enterprise and go after the pirate base. They managed to breach its defenses and capture it with limited losses or damage. The pirate leader’s computer’s personal logs mention him getting instructions from the man in black. Admiral Iota ordered the investigation into this to be closed, he explained it would seem like chasing ghosts. I tried to persuade him to let us try but he would not budge. A few days after this 2 officers attached to Starfleet intelligence came to the office detaining everyone for questioning. What was not revealed to the general population was that in the Nausicans main computer where Starfleet’s own files for current and future troop movements, some pf witch could be traced to this part of the building. I ordered my team to cooperate but the admiral refused saying they were wasting time. The investigation proceeded nevertheless and they managed to trace some files to the Admirals personal computer. He denies everything and has since been relieved of his command, for now I am the acting head of Starfleet Operations till Starfleet assigns a replacement in a few days. In the months that followed Starfleet was preparing Admiral Iota’s trial witch would prove to be a major embarrassment to the current administration. In 2262 following up on the trial Admiral Iota was killed in a transporter accident. Diagnostics show the transporter was working perfectly just minutes before and tests showed no flaws or malfunctions. I don’t know what to think but this smells. (this event leads up to the conspiracy to start a war with the Klingon empire the next year)

====The 5 year mission====

After a new head of Operations was appointed I stayed on to brief everyone on current matters, after 2 years at Starfleet Headquarters I requested to be given a ship again. Starfleet command promised to do their best, meanwhile I continued to do my job. In 2263 I received news my new ship was waiting for me at the Eta Eridani shipyards. The USS Asimov, another Constitution class cruiser. After taking command my first task was to try and reassemble some of my former crew. Doctor Gillian and tactical officer Shrias transferred almost right away, the others where unfortunately not able to transfer. Upon arrival of my new officers and crew we set out and laid in a course for the Xleen system, warp 6. We have been instructed to check in with the science team there, they have missed their regular check in, so far all attempts to communicate with the scientists has failed. Upon arrival we discovered their subspace transceiver had malfunctioned. After providing them with a new device we set a course for the frontier.

====Doorway to the stars====

While on an away mission to the planet Surilius II my away team and myself discovered the remnants of an ancient civilization, now long since disappeared into oblivion. Intend on exploring the city we ventured forward when we were stunned by some sort of phaser beam. After waking up I found myself alone and in a desert, wherever this is, it’s not the planet I beamed down to. Meanwhile on the Asimov search teams had been send down to look for the mission away team and myself, no trace was found. A few hours later I was greeted by a man calling himself Zaal, he explained he was a researcher looking into trans galactic travel by means of a gateway. He explained the gateways where created long ago by a race called the Iconians. When we saw my team closing in he mistook us for raiders and stunned us, panicked by the fact the other crewmembers would want revenge he took me through this gateway to disappear and found out who told us about the planet. I managed to convince him we where peaceful explorers who had never even heard of the Iconians, he seemed to relax somewhat though I’m not entirely sure he even trusted me. This planet, he explained was once a research outpost build by the Iconians long abandoned and hidden in a subspace pocket. He will return me, but at a price. Meanwhile back on Surilius the search teams recovered my team mates in a cave protected by a crude forcefield. They claimed not to remember anything of what happened after they were stunned. I asked Zaal what was it that he wanted. He says he has been researching the gateways for years but recently his superior wanted him to close the project based on the fact it had produced little useful results. He refused explaining he gathered his research and stepped through the portal to Surillius II where we found him. He requests amnesty by the Federation. I told him we would take a look at the matter when we returned. After agreeing he opened the portal and I explained what had transpired to my crew. Zaal will remain behind with a science team to continue his research, a science vessel, the USS Invicta is on its way to assist them.

====The Rogue colony====

The Asimov has been instructed to chart the M644 sector and investigate a new class of nebula that covers 8 systems. While Operations officer Van Der Voorde is leading a shuttle mission to a nearby M class planet containing rich veins of deuterium the Asimov will scout the nebula. In order to do so we had to reconfigure the shields to withstand the special radiation emitted by the Nebula witch under normal conditions is lethal to humanoids. After a few days inside we discovered what seemed to be another M class planet on our sensors. Intrigued we set a course and a surveying team assembled to start exploring this miraculous find. It was a surprise to hear my science officer had detected signs of life but I was shocked to hear they where Vulcan. As the Asimov approached the planet my first officer beamed down with an away team. They were met by a group of Vulcans aiming their weapons at us who threw us in jail. Meanwhile the ship was attacked by a strange weapon that instantly killed some of my crew members all over the ship. We could see no means of defending against it and I was forced to order the retreat. Meanwhile on the planet my first officer was brought before the High council, they explained they were Vulcans who opposed the High command and had come here before the time of Surak, unlike the other Vulcans who embraced logic this colony never did and is hardly more than a band of savages. Over night the away team was freed by T’shio, a Vulcan who is eager to learn the ways of her brothers and sisters still on Vulcan. They contacted the Asimov for transport, we moved back to the planet coming under attack from the mysterious weapon again, T’shio explains it is a weapon focused on people with negative thoughts, by going to combat stations the whole crew is in danger. After hearing this I informed the crew to think as positive as possible. We managed to take the away team on board and set a course to rendez vous with Lieutenant Van Der Voorde’s team. After delivering my report to Starfleet the Vulcans explained It was probably a psionic weapon that attacked the Asimov. T’shio is welcome to return to Vulcan where she will undergo the teachings of Surak If she pleases.

====The great plume of Agosoria====

The Asimov has been recalled to Federation space in order to do research into the great plume of Agosoria, a proto star within a stellar nursery that emits a neutron blast every 11 years and discovered more than a century ago by the NX 01. Before we proceed however Starfleet has asked we pick up a few pilgrims at a nearby trading post. I don’t like the idea of taking passengers on board my ship but Commodore Tashikama was quite clear. Upon arrival we launched 2 special probes designed for the mission. The lead scientist on the team, a doctor Grol has “relieved” my science officer and practically took over my whole bridge. Part of me can’t help but wanting to shoot him out of a torpedo tube. For the duration of this mission I will do my work in my own quarters and oversee some changes to the ship. Like the Hood the Asimov will house an arboretum for the crew and a small cargo bay for myself. The work should be completed by the end of the mission and it provides an excellent distraction.

====The Heiress ====

In the year 2364 the Asimov is ordered to transport Aelia, the heir to the Shifuni throne back to her home planet. Our mission has been deemed hazardous. The Klingon Empire have set their sights on Shifuni and all that stands between them and a military dictatorship is my passenger. Much to my surprise the Asimov reaches the planet without opposition but upon entering the Royal chamber a bomb detonates. 4 of the Asimov’s crew are killed instantly and the princess is wounded. Using the events as an excuse Malakor, the princess’s nephew seizes the throne and declares himself King and Shifuni a Klingon protectorate. Moments later the IKS T’Cha and the IKS Groth witch where hiding behind Shifuni’s 3d moon advances on the planet transmitting a single message to the Asimov: “Death to enemies of the Empire”. Outnumbered the Asimov is forced to retreat stranding captain Scientia and the rest of the away team on the planet awaiting capture. The only thing that can save them is an ancient ritual that allows another person of royal blood to fight the current ruler to the death. With the princess’s life in danger I prepare for the match. Malakor who is more familiar with the Rudan, a ceremonial weapon most resembling a spiked glove strikes first and managed to wound me at the thy. The fight continued with him forcing me to the floor, as he prepares for the final blow I tumble him over with both legs and strike the weapon into his chest. As he lay there near death he asked his niece for forgiveness before passing away. With the planet now under my rule I forsake the throne to princess Aelia. The Asimov has returned and with the aid of the Shifuni defense forces manages to reach the planet and beam me aboard. We managed to force the Klingons to withdraw severely damaging one of their ships in the process. With peace returned to the system myself and my senior officers beamed down to participate in the coronation ceremony before departing, leaving behind a planet that will one day be ready to enter the Federation.

====The war at home====

Shortly after the events on Shifuni the Asimov has set a course to the planet Tolba to negotiate for the mining rights to the planets Dilithium veins. What he did not expect was he would be competing against the shrewdest negotiator he’s ever met. His own mother. The first day of negotiations does not proceed well and it seems to be a lost cause. Later that night he meets her, as expected she once again makes him clear their people should take precedence then playing a galactic knight in a childish uniform, another insult at her son joining Starfleet, something she never wanted. Furious at her attitude he leaves the room and goes to bed. The following morning negotiations resume with the El Aurian team making an offer that takes everyone by surprise. If Arsinoe resigns his commission the Federation can claim the planet. Torn between the choice of his career or his sense of duty to the Federation he contacts his father, the Captain of the USS Alamo. He manages to talk some sense into his wife who leaves the negotiating table and returns home. The fight for the mining rights has been won, the fight at home, is yet to begin.

====Unification====

In 2365 the time comes the El Aurian people have feared, the homeworld, the house Arsinoe’s family fled from all those years ago is under attack by a species called the Borg. With the enemy advancing on the El Aurian’s closest neighbors they know they have a few days at best. Hearing of what transpired Arsinoe pleads with Starfleet for support and the Asimov and 4 other starships are assigned to assist survivors. They manage to gather a few hundred ships filled with scared refugees and escort them to the Terra system. Most of the survivors wish to settle there under the rule of their royal family but aboard the USS Constellation Gedurian, the dictator is already plotting to seize the planet. Over time nearly 8 million El Aurians have gathered in the system. In order to let the past rest the Queen welcomes anyone who wishes to settle and declares amnesty for the people’s past acts saying they where blinded by a tyrant desperate for power. Only Gedurian himself will not be allowed to settle. Over the next 2 years the Asimov will assist in the safe escort of refugees shattered across the quadrant. The small capital grows to a large metropolis with nearly 9 million inhabitants. Buildings higher then can be seen from the ground are erected and a 2 miles high new palace is constructed. The cultural treasures that could be saved will be put on display there during the day. Additional systems where expanded upon leading to the creation of the El Aurian weather bureau, the El Aurian Planetary shield bureau and others.

====The 4 day war====

Along with the El Aurian refugee situation the Klingons launched an attack against the Federation that resulted in an all out war between the factions, fortunately the war was swiftly ended by the interference from the Organians, a mysterious race first discovered by the USS Enterprise. During the first day the Klingon embassy was evacuated and an attack was launched on the Terra system that was swiftly pushed back by the Asimov and the rest of the Starfleet vessels in the system.

====Sic simper tyranis====

With colonization going as planned we received report that Gedurian was found dead aboard the USS Saratoga. Preliminary reports suggest he died of blunt force trauma along with several knife wounds. The killer is none other then valen, his former aide de camp. With the tyrant dead the old threat to my family has finally ended. By the time it was 2367 the ceremony had started to officially rename Terra, from this day forward the planet would be known as New El Auria. Around this time the planet Coridan enters the Federation, the mining agreements are revised and El Auria no longer receives half the profits but 20% limiting influence in the Quadrant.

====A welcome relief====

After the conclusion of the 5 year mission the Asimov’s crew will receive shore leave for 3 months while the ship undergoes major maintenance at the Utopia Planetia shipyards. Most of my crew has established a band with my people over the time we spend setting up the refugee colonies and plan on settling on the planet themselves. They will be traveling with me along with their families aboard the SS Stromos, a civilian colony transport ship. After spending a relaxing time on his home planet Arsinoe returns to take command of the Asimov. In 2368 the Asimov is sent to survey planets in sector 493 along the Romulan Neutral zone. On one of the planets an away team discovers an installation of Orion pirates, the Asimov managed to capture the facility but what we read in the computer core caused a few surprises. After detonating spatial charges and destroying the facility the Asimov continued its survey mission in the following months finding nothing of interest. After the conclusion of this task we where ordered to the Vulcan system to transport Ambassador Sarek to a diplomatic conference on Tellar. Upon arriving we received the usual insults from the officials, Tellarrites, a strange culture to be sure.

====Project Omega====

During the year 2269 the Asimov was relieved of standard duty and placed under the command of Starfleet Intelligence, when their involved my skin itches. We have been ordered to the Lantaru sector to transport supplies and a scientific team to a Starfleet facility, my superiors expressed importance our logs can not contain records of the mission as officially the base does not exist. Upon arrival we dropped off our cargo and were ordered to standby for orders and patrol the system. I wonder what purpose this base serves. The crew is speculating like crazy, anything from a super weapon to Eugenics research. Anyway, their lead scientist, a man named Ketteract is not saying a word, the only clue I have is overhearing some scientists speak of the Omega Molecule. I decided not to dwell on it and focus on my job. After 6 days of waiting I received a message from the station ordering us to stand back. I am unsure what transpired but the next moment the station exploded, in order to not get hi by the shockwave accompanied by a stream I had never before seen we jumped to maximum warp. When attempting to return to the Lantaru sector we found out we where unable to use our warp engines. All readings indicated subspace had been destroyed inside and around the area. After notifying my superiors for this mission I was ordered to star base 11 for debriefing and afterward ordered never to speak of what transpired or what I had just been told. My ships computers would be erased and my crew given similar orders.

====Utopia Planetia====

In 2270 I found myself returning to older interests. The Asimov had been placed on exploration duty and I had a lot of spare time to study, I brushed up on my Andorian and Klingon. It was an overall quiet year. James T Kirk has been promoted to the head of Starfleet Operations, he has come a long way since the boy I met on Tarsus IV. He ordered us to Lariost III to assist the colonist’s terra forming efforts. Their revolutionary work will undoubtedly show breakthroughs and make more planets accessible for colonization. Meanwhile a new organization has been set up on Earth: The bureau of Temporal Investigations tasked with protecting the timeline. After the terra forming project the Asimov was ordered back to Earth to receive a major refit that would take a year, during that time I would oversee the refit along with my senior officers and a skeleton crew. New uniforms have also been delivered to replace the old.

====Vendetta====

The year is 2272, after captain Scientia has ordered the Asimov to set a course for Eta Eridani where the senior staff has been invited to participate in the launch of the USS Bombay. Upon arrival I was glad to greet my father, captain Scientia SR as well as an old friend of the family, Admiral Vrix. The festivities commenced and we had a chance to exchange stories before calling it a night. The next morning Admiral Vrix is found dead and all signs point to Arsinoe being the killer. The news spreads across the Federation and a trial begins not a week later. Much to the despair of his friends and crew he is found guilty and send to the penal colony on Earth. The El Aurian Royal family formally protests and threatens to cut all ties with the Federation including the much needed Dilithium shipments. After considering all the implications it is determined Arsinoe is to be expelled from Federation territory never to return.

====Exile====

After his exile from Federation space Arsinoe returns home, his life’s work, namely his career gone he sinks into a depression. In order to cheer him up his family purchases a Klingon D6 cruiser and modifies it with Federation technology. A few weeks later Arsinoe received visits and messages from old friends in Starfleet trying to offer support; this makes him feel somewhat better but only temporary. Not to long afterwards a Romulan Skyhawk arrives in the El Aurian system carrying an ambassador to open diplomatic relations. The Romulans see a chance exists due to recent events. In response to the unfair treatment of a member of their royal family the El Aurians have negotiated new mining treaties with the Klingon Empire, as a result of this deal a D7 cruiser will be permanently stationed in the system to help protect it, this much to the annoyance of the Starfleet presence.

====Jolan Tru====

The Federation council has protested the presence of the Romulans, the Klingons where bad enough but they are concerned about Federation security. The El Aurian government has informed them that they are a neutral power and are free to trade with whom they chose. The Romulans will establish an embassy on the surface of our planet, Ambassador Vrael has also promised 3 birds of prey will be assigned to the system for protection. I have it on good authority Starfleet command is furious but can’t afford to withdraw its troops and risk losing the mining shipments. Still I am concerned about the fact that so many powers with not to much positive feelings operate ships in the same system. Meanwhile in 2373 I have been given permission to travel freely in the Romulan Empire, an opportunity I intend to take advantage off.

====Romulus====

Upon arrival on Romulus I was greeted by Senator Toval, I had been invited to stay with him on his estate and was given free movement in the city. Knowing my fondness for ancient artifacts and different cultures I was given access to the public records and started studying Romulan language and customs earning me the respect of some, the loathing of others. I downloaded all the unrestricted data available and stored it for when I would someday return to El Auria, knowledge is power after all. I originally planned to spend 6 months traveling Romulan space, I would eventually stay 6 years before returning home in 2279. Meanwhile further investigation by Starfleet officers discovered who killed Admiral Vrix, the Flaxian mercenary was apprehended after killing a Vulcan official on Europa prime and confessed to 7 other murders. With my name cleared I was invited back to Federation space and my old position. This is the second time someone tried to frame me. I’m not certain I want to risk a 3d.
====The Return====
Starfleet and the Federation found itself in a difficult position after evidence of my innocence was discovered, to avoid Starfleet an embarrassing loss of face it was agreed the official story would say they knew of my innocence all along but where forced to use me to uncover the real perpetrators. After this I was asked to return and in 2280 I received command of the Asimov once more. On top of this they decided to change uniforms again. An improvement if you ask me. A new president has been elected and I have been given my first mission since my reinstatement. As soon as my old officers arrive we will get under way.

====Terra Nuovo====

While the last supplies are being loaded the Asimov prepares to go on a prestigious mission. The Asimov will accompany a convoy of settlers to the planet Sabarkan, a recently charted M class planet where a new colony is to be established. The Asimov will be escorting over 100 000 men, woman and children to a new home. Once arrived it will patrol the system until Starfleet can dispatch a permanent base there. Starfleet command believes that because of the importance of the El Aurian shipments we will be safe of Klingon and Romulan attacks. I hope they are correct. After we got under way and traveled at warp 5 for 3 weeks without incident we encountered a disabled Romulan warhawk. We offered to render assistance and beamed over an away team of 6. The Romulan commander self destructed his vessel leading to the first loss of officers under my command since the start of this mission. I have filed a report on the incident and we resumed course. One month later we reached our destination and the colonists started to land their ships and disassemble them. I myself have beamed down to the surface as well along with 1/4th of my crew while the Asimov patrols the system.

====Vesper====

The weeks went by as the colonists continued to construct what was to be their new home, houses where build and food was farmed. Things have so far been quiet; the leader of the colony, a woman named Vesper has earned the respect of many by working alongside her people on the field including myself. Over the next months the two become quite close and romantically involved. Meanwhile word was received from Starfleet that the permanent patrol ships are on route. I have given most of my crew shore leave leaving a skeleton crew on board. A sensor array has been deployed that should give more then ample warning of any threat. I addition we discovered supplies of Duranium on the 4th moon.

====The Vaald====

A mere few days later we made contact with the Vaald, a species that intends to claim the colony for their own along with the duranium deposits. The Asimov is all that stands between them and the thousands of defenseless colonists, with Starfleet reinforcements still months away it falls to us to stop the slaughter of innocent civilians. But will it be enough?

====Victory before honor====

In 2281 the Asimov received word of Starfleet officers being imprisoned by the Klingons in recent conflicts. Time is of the essence as the Klingons make plans to get rid of the “evidence”. Starfleet came up with a daring plan to get the officers back from the Klingons with the use of a captured bird of prey. Captain Arsinoe must move into enemy space to rescue the hostages knowing that if he is discovered Starfleet will deny any knowledge of the mission and leave him at Klingon Mercy. Nevertheless the mission is launched with a small group of volunteers. At first everything goes off without a problem but when the ship nears the prison planet 3 D7 cruisers decloak under command of General K’cha ordering arsinoe’s bird of prey to submit for inspection, despite a valiant defense the ship is disabled and boarded and Arsinoe sees 2 of his officers murdered before his very eyes. General K’cha claims he was to late anyway, the Starfleet officers have already been “disposed” off. Defeated Arsinoe and his crew are taken to the very place they where heading, the prison colony Rura Penthe.

====Rura Penthe====

After being discovered by the Klingons Arsinoe along with his team are imprisoned on Rura Penthe, a harsh planet where prisoners mine for dilithium till they die. His mission a failure after the hostages where murdered by General K’cha they must escape as fast as possible before they fall victim to fellow prisoners or the corrupt Klingon guards. While on Rura Pente Arsinoe meets Iris, an El Aurian woman the Klingons captured on a raid, her parents being killed in the raid along with her family Arsinoe promises to get her out of the hell. Eventually he manages to earn some respect from the guards by defeating some of them in a duel, the ones defeated however, are ever more determined to end the “nuisance” arsinoe has become. Meanwhile the El Aurian royal family having received word Arsinoe is a Klingon prisoner plead with the Klingon Ambassador for his release. Fearing the loss of the El Aurian mining agreements he talks to the chancellor, the offer is accepted but only if Arsinoe resigns from Starfleet and his crew will remain on Rura Penthe. Arsinoe refuses to neither leave his men behind nor resign. Infuriated with this choice his family hires a team of mercenaries to break him and his team out. They eventually succeed but 2 more officers die along with some mercenaries. Safely delivered to El Auria arsinoe heads off to Earth to report on the latest events in person, meanwhile Iris will attend Starfleet academy the following year.

====Fleet Captain Scientia on the frontier====

Upon returning to Earth in 2282 I was met by Admiral Nogura, he conveyed his condolences for the loss of my officers but said that with the evidence returned the Klingons have suffered an embarrassing lose of face In the Quadrant, I was informed I was no longer in command of the USS Asimov, instead I was promoted to Fleet captain and given command of the USS Proxima, the second ship of its class, sister ship of the USS Excelsior. Its first mission is to deliver medical supplies to the Sierra system to combat an epidemic of Tarkaelian plague. A mission that allows us to test the new engines of my new ship. Afterwards we proceed with patrol of the core sectors starting with Sirius before proceeding to the Klingon border for border patrol.

====A look in the mirror====

During a survey mission in the Sigma Iota system the Proxima encountered what seemed to be a Federation Heavy cruiser, the USS Excalibur, a vessel destroyed years ago. We send a standard greeting to the ship but they responded by firing their weapons, in the process destroying my ships comm. Array. The commanding officer introduced himself as captain T’vok of the ISS Excalibur and that my ship was now the property of the Terran empire. We managed to chase them away. After repairs to the communications array where completed I contacted Admiral Stone to inform him of what transpired, it seems the vessel we encountered was from an alternate universe first encountered by the USS Enterprise more then a decade ago.

====A web of diplomacy====

In 2283 shortly after the encounter with the mirror universe the Federation has received a message from the Tholians saying they want to negotiate the release of Puist, a Federation planet on witch they can establish a new colony. The Proxima has been assigned to carry the Federation team to the system. On route the ship is attacked by 2 Birds of prey, The Proxima manages to destroy them both but Ambassador Sutak, the head of the diplomatic team is killed. With time ticking the Proxima resumes its course with its captain studying the facts of the case in more detail. Upon arrival in the Puist system the Proxima discovers the Tholian ship carrying the negotiators has been destroyed. On the edge of the system they see 2 K’tinga class Klingon battlecruisers go to warp immediately. An investigation is started in the destruction of the tholian cruiser; meanwhile sensors have picked up a tholian battlegroup on its way to the system, no doubt investigating why their ship has not reported in. When they arrive they blame the Proxima of murdering their diplomats and threaten to turn the Federation into dust, starting with the Proxima, as the cruisers span a web around his Ship Arsinoe Scientia has limited time to prove Klingon involvement and close the treaty himself.

to be continued..............
