Starfleet Academy

Lt Commander Delanno has attended the academy three times in her career, as a cadet. As one of the first to graduate from the academy at its formation around 2136, mandatory re-training was required after 100 years of service. The third visit to the academy was in 2281.

Records of her semesters and full study program when she first joined the academy have been lost and/or corrupted due to age, accident and major system rebuilding after both the Xindi and Breen attacks on the Academy records during her time as an officer. Only partial logs and sporadic records remain.

Her training in 2281 focused largely on tactical and piloting operations on a starship.

Personal Information

Much about Lt. Commander Delanno’s life in the past has been lost due to time. Currently she is the subject of much discussion at the office of Temporal Investigations for her unusual long life span for a human. The Lt. Com. Herself attributes this to an accident in her early twenties consisting of

Delanno has served on many starships ranging from large cruisers to small battleships however, gave up active duty in 2305 to take postings at Starfleet academy and later, Starfleet medical. Delanno has always been happy with these not active postings but has recently expressed a wish to return to active duty and continue up the ranking system to attain her own command.

With the loss of her parents in the mid 2000s, Delanno has admitted on numerous occasions that growing close to people has become difficult for her and prefers to focus on the job as she notes that people she grows close to, grow old and die while she does not.

Hobbies include:

Parisi Squares
3 Dimensional Chess
Vulcan Kal-toh
Sword Play
Romantic Holonovels
Piano

End Personnel Log.

Miss Delanno is a fascinating subject and it is my professional opinion that she would be well suited for admittance into the new formation known as Starfleet.

She met with me at my office, turned up on time, and I am pleased to say she blew me away. Her confidence and vigour are exactly what this project needs.

I looked at her entrance exam scores and to be perfectly honest, I am surprised she is even attempting to join. I would have expected scores like that to come from members of high flying academic institutions and certainly not wanting to join the military grunts like us.

We talked a bit about her past. She talked about her jobs and her parents that are now deceased. She got a little flustered when I pried deeper about her relationship with her parents however, I feel that this is little cause for concern as even the best and brightest of us can get emotional when certain subjects are broached.

I am clearing her to join the program pending an annual psycho-evaluation and stress testing.

I find myself at loggerheads yet again with Cadet Delanno.

She started a full blown argument with me today at the Vulcan Anatomy seminar about the proper treatment of a Heart Attack.

At first I thought her to be completely wrong and dismissed her from the class. Despite her inability to keep her mouth shut, she left without another word and took her punishment head on.

I confined her to her quarters and withdrew her free time privileges for a week for insubordination.

On review of her evidence and class notes however, I have to admit she was right. Her theories are enthralling and clever and one simply cannot doubt her abilities.

She needs to learn to heed command however and present her ideas in a way more befitting of a military officer.

The punishment will stick.

A record of this log will be placed in her academic record.

Normally I have little time for the namby pamby science officers that go through my basic training regimen. Normally I have a great many criticisms to make about the physical condition of the in-ti-lectual types.

However, on this occasion, Cadet Delanno surprised me.

I have never seen a cadet move that fast through my obstacle course before. Her agility and martial skill is impressive and she blew away the sparring opponents I placed her with.

She knocked Ensign Barnes on his ass. He hasn’t been beaten that badly since I took him down to show a first year cadet how it was done.

Anyway, I am passing her with top marks for the physical portion this year.

It is a shame we lost her to the egg heads… she’d make one hell of a MACO.

I hereby pass Cadet Ashleigh Delanno and bestow upon her the rank of Ensign.

She has been a valued officer here through-out her training and has excelled in her field.

I believe her to be a sound and proficient medical practitioner and also grant her the full title of Doctor and all the privileges and responsibilities of this rank.

While her strength and vigour will be missed as we continue to rebuild and reorganise after the tragic loss of so many great men and women here last year, I know that her place is not with us and she is destined to be more. She is among the best and the brightest students to ever have walked these halls thus far and I wish her all the very best in the future.

I formally release her from the academy and place her beneath the command of Captain Erika Hernandez, Captain of the Columbia (NX-02).
