Name: Velzan Dar Species: Trill (Joined) Ht. 5'11" Wt. 195 Hair: Black Eyes: Blue Scars/marks/tattoos: Trill Spots Attributes ((No skill over 5 points total // Max = 25 points to place))Strength: 4 Agility: 5 Constitution: 4 Intelligence: 4 Perception (aka Wisdom): 3 Charisma (aka Appearance): 2 Willpower (aka Physic):3Skills ((No skill over 5 points total // Max = 40 points to place))1. Federation Law 5 2. Investigation 5 3. Intimidation 5 4. Melee Combat 5 5. Tactician 4 6. Interrogation/Interrogation Resistance 3 7. Ranged Combat/Weapons 3 8. Alien Law 3 9. Hand to Hand combat 3 10. Espionage 4 Unique abilities: Symbiont: Memories of multiple previous hosts, including a Starfleet officer who fought aboard starships and in ground combat during the Dominion War. This results in a high degree of familiarity with Dominion weapons, ships, and tactics. Other hosts provide various other memory based bonuses.Minor Telepathy: Trill are not considered a telepathic race in the way Vulcans and Betazoids are, but have been know to display low levels of Telepathy, such as during various rites related to Symbiotes. This individual has a slightly higher level of ability, but not to the degree that he can break into a mind focused on repelling intrusion.Special Abilities: Contacts and Influence: As a high ranking member of the shadowy Special Security Division, he has access to a large amount of personal and peripheral "strings to pull", as well as the resources and services of the secretive and feared SSD. This level of influence exceeds or matches the top echelons of Starfleet Intelligence, and SSD is possibly even more legally and ethically grey than SI.SSD member: As a member of the Federation's elite security service (Special Security Division), this individual can exercise a wide range of related powers, such as universal power of arrest. This precludes no one, and can be an admiral as easily as a crewman. As a higher ranking member of the Division, this membership also brings with it the very highest levels of security clearance. Other related rights include universal armament (ability to carry arms into otherwise prohibited areas, such as space stations or other Federation vessels). Flaws:Imposing reputation: Little is known of the SSD among the Federation mainstream, but the only whispers that are rarely uttered tell of an intimidating group that only shows up in the very worst of situations. As a result, most Division members very rarely share their allegiance. This adds +2 difficulty to all persuade rolls with any member of the federation that is aware of the SSD officer's membership in the Division. +1 to all Intimidation rolls.Divisional rivalry: The SSD and Starfleet Intelligence have a rocky relationship at best. SSD Agents have no qualms arresting SI agents, officers, or operatives if they are caught violating Federation law, or even if it is simply expedient. More than once has an SI officer simply failed to report in, never heard from again after running afoul of an SSD member conducting operations. Furthermore, SI has a much more difficult time obtaining concrete information about SSD than they do even for most alien governments. As a result they bear great distaste for the SSD. This flaw adds +3 difficulty to any non-intimidate social roll with a member of SI.Engineering deficiency: Due to high levels of specialization in other areas, this officer's Engineering knowledge is little better than a freshly graduated officer. They know the basics that all officers must know, but have no more knowledge, and lack natural aptitude for engineering. +2 to all engineering rolls.Demanding Allegiance: The SSD does not look kindly on traitors or divided loyalties. In times past, one of the few well known facts about the SSD is that members were conditioned to bear loyalty to the Division above nearly all else, including mainstream Starfleet. Acting against the interests of the SSD is not in this individual's normal nature. +3 to all rolls involving an action against the best interests of the SSD, excepting exceptionally pressing clear and present dangers to the Federation. Must first make a willpower roll to even attempt taking an action counter to the SSD's interests.High Value Asset:As a high ranking member of the SSD, this individual would be an extremely valuable prisoner or asset to hostile governments. His station would also make him a very desirable target for Starfleet Intelligence, who bears no love for the SSD and desires as much information as they can gather, of which they have little. Increased liklihood of betrayal and attempted kidnapping by a hostile government, to include possibly unexpected attacks aimed at this individual's capture, should his whereabouts be learned in advance (ex. by Orions). This includes the possibility of a member of SI attempting to orchestrate him falling into their hands to be shipped off to an SI facility (such as 4028). The high profile nature of this individual makes such an action by SI extremely unlikely as such an act would be met with severe reprisal by SSD. It is not out of the picture however. Warbound: Memories of the Dominion War provide a natural talent for operating against the Dominion, as well as a natural familiarity with their weapons, but also leaves an indelible impression. +1 to all rolls involving mutual operational co-operation with any race aligned with the Dominion during the war. +2 to any social roll involving co-operation with Vorta or Founders.
