From July 2nd at 8am PT to August 1st at 12pm PT, enjoy all the famous activities of the beaches of Risa, including powerboard races and biathlons, horga'hn hunts, scavenging for artifacts, and the signature dance party. Participate in these activities to earn your very own Vovin Obelisk Carrier [T6], a grand update to the original Obelisk Carrier!

In addition, the Risians and their friends have developed several new rewards for you to purchase with your Lohlunat Favors this year:

The people of Risa have long shown mastery of the elements of their world, and now it’s time to take that mastery to the stars. With the Risian Terraformer Universal Kit Frame, you’ll be able to gain different bonuses depending on the elemental Kit Modules you have equipped. Here’s how it works:

For each Elemental Kit Module of ANY type the Player gains:

+20 Kit Performance - up to a maximum of +120 (5 Modules)
+20 Kit Readiness - up to a maximum of +120 (% Modules)

If the Player has one Elemental Kit Module of each type they gain

+100 Kit Performance - which can be enhanced to +120 with the additional of another Elemental Kit Module
+100 Kit Readiness - which can be enhanced to +120 with the additional of another Elemental Kit Module

In addition they will get:

Fire
+5% Critical Severity per Fire Elemental Kit Module (Max 5)

Water
+0.05 Health Regeneration per Water Elemental Kit Module (Max 5)

Earth
+10 All Damage Resistance per Earth Elemental Kit Module (Max 5)

Air
+5% Run Speed per Air Elemental Kit Module (Max 5)

In addition, three new kit modules harness the power of the storm:

    Tactical Kit Module - Storm Strike
    Tactical Storm Strike uses Risian terraform technology to stimulate the particles in the upper atmosphere around the targeted foe, causing multiple bolts of lightning to strike down from the heavens and move towards the closest potential target until the energy disperses. Anyone targeted can also suffer a knockback and slow from the devastating power of the lightning.

    Science Kit Module – Static Slam
    Charged particles gather around the foe you target with static electricity and once the critical mass is reached they explode out in a Static Slam which causes electrical energy to course through your enemies bodies, with a chance to knock them back, stun and slow them so you can gain the advantage.

    Engineering Kit Module – Electrical Overcharge
    Risian terraform technology allows you to energize your own and your allies weapons with an overcharge of electrical energy. This added boost to damage can also cause the enemies ranged weapons to malfunction and turn the tide of battle to your favor. These added weapon effects only trigger max of once per second.

Years ago, the burgeoning Khitomer Alliance received a gift. These Obelisk Carriers, based on Iconian technology, gave the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans an edge in the battles during and after the Iconian War. However, as time as gone on, other technology seems to have outpaced these powerful ships. With that in mind, it was time for an update, and this year’s Summer Event Ship is the brand new Vovin Obelisk Carrier.

These alien vessels were provided to the Khitomer Alliance by a variant Iconian civilization that was found in a neighboring dimension, after a strike team that included an Aetherian ally helped ward off an existence-threatening attack by their variant version of the Borg. Significant similarities exist between these starships, and the Obelisk Carriers found in our own reality, though with more modernized technology and capabilities, including an even more resilient structural field, and improved mobility.

Console - Universal - Subspace Fracture Tunneling Field
We are not sure how this Ancient civilization managed to apply the principles of Subspace Travel to such a precise degree as to enable them to use it in battle. By creating a Subspace Fracture, the ship can "tunnel" towards a target traversing a vast distance in what appears to be instantaneous movement due to the differences in spacetime density between dimensions. What we do know is that this technology should not fall into the wrong hands.

This console provides a substantial passive bonus to Hull Regeneration.

This Console can be equipped in any console slot. You may only equip one of these on any single ship.

Equipping this Console at the same time as the Omni-Directional Antiproton Beam Array, the Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core or the Reactive Antiproton Cascade Emitter will bestow additional beneficial effects on your ship:

The “Ancient Obelisk Technologies” Item Set previously consisted of the Ancient Omni-Directional Beam Array, Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core, and Console - Universal - Reactive Antiproton Cascade Emitter. With this update, the new Universal Console from this ship is being added to the existing set bonus. Along with this, we added a new 4-Piece Set Bonus accessible only if you have all 4 pieces of this set equipped.

Four Piece Bonus
(Passive) Creates an Obelisk Swarmer every 1 sec, with up to 8 of them on flight at the same time.

Starship Trait - Reconstructive Conversion Wave
Activating any Hull Healing Bridge Officer Ability or any Command Bridge Officer Ability causes your ship to emit a 5km wave of Antiproton Damage. For each Foe damaged by this wave, you and your pets will be granted a temporary heal-over-time effect that restores a small percentage of your max health while active.

This effect may only be triggered once every few seconds. The heal-over-time effect can only affect yourself and up to 12 of your nearest pets, but may be granted to any pet type without restriction. This trait will only trigger while in combat.

The ground kit actually looks interesting. On paper, the ability to add 120 Kit Performance AND 120 Kit Readiness sounds amazing. I guess we need to see what these new modules are all about and/or what other drawbacks there are. I can totally see STO giving us an extra 120 readiness, only to require modules with much longer cooldowns.

Not really my flavor of ship, but it could be the makings of a great tank. (at least the console and trait are worthy of a tank build)
