Post subject: | The 12th Anniversary Event! (jan 25th - feb 24th 2022) |
As Star Trek Online completes its twelfth year representing the Star Trek universe, we are pleased to kick off the festivities for our Anniversary Celebration starting on PC on January 25th, 2022 and continuing until February 24th, 2022. (Console dates will be announced at a later date.) All of the usual activities will contribute toward your Daily Progress in the Event, eventually earning your way toward the Grand Prize – a Tier 6 Ship! Keep reading to reveal what activities and prizes await those who join us to celebrate the 12th Anniversary. The Grand Prize for this event will be a brand new Tier 6 ship – revealed tonight at 4:30 PT on a new Ten Forward Weekly! You can watch on our Twitch Channel or our Facebook Page. Part of the anniversary update will be a brand new episode, "Red Shift." We'll have more information on it when it goes live, but it will be a part of this event, as seen below. Activities:
(New) Red Shift TFOs – 2 Daily Progress (New) Iuppiter Iratus Omega Stabilization (Daily) – 1 Daily Progress Players unable to find the time to complete the Event, or interested in rushing to complete their progress, will have the opportunity to purchase the remainder of their Daily Progress using Zen at any time. The base price for this buyout will be discounted based on the amount of Daily Progress you have already accrued. Omega Molecule Stabilization Game Q is up to his annual shenanigans. He will once again be rewarding captains for stabilizing Omega Particles found in various social zones in Star Trek Online. Talk to Q to get the mission “Omega Stabilization (Daily)” and you will be given three zones to visit where you must stabilize an Omega Particle by playing a minigame. The chosen zones will change periodically, inviting players to explore the vast expanses of space in order to complete this challenge. The minigame itself is simple - Omega molecules will fall in from the left in one of four channels. Captains will move the capture device into the correct channel as the molecule hits the right-hand line. The more molecules you capture, the more Omega molecules you’ll safely dissipate, and the more points you will score. Q doesn’t care how many points you score, just that you complete the minigame in order to receive credit for his Daily Mission. Doing so will grant you Daily Progress if you have not already earned it for the day, as well as the other standard rewards associated with this Daily Mission. The score received from the minigame does influence your rewards, however! The more points you score, the better chance you have at scoring better quality Omega particle remnants which can be used with the R&D system to craft special Omega Particle Tech Upgrades. Omega Traces come in the three different colors of the Omega nodes themselves. Using the R&D system you can combine 1 of each Trace into an Omega Sliver. You can them combine three Omega Slivers into an Omega Shard, and three Omega Shards into an Omega Fragment. Three Omega Fragments can then be combined into an Omega Tech Upgrade which costs no dilithium to apply, and supplies a massive dose of Technology and Research Points to whatever item it is applied to. Alternately, two Omega Fragments can be combined with varying amounts of Refined Dilithium to produce [Mark] and [Rarity] variations of the Omega Upgrade. These variants focus entirely on improving item Mark or Rarity, respectively, making them ideal for players seeking specific avenues of upgrading their equipment. Completing the minigame will always score you a single Omega Trace at the very least. The better you score, the greater your chance to win Omega Slivers, Shards, or even Fragments. Beginning with this year’s update, all Omega materials will be changed to Bind-to-Account-on-Pickup, rather than being tradeable with other players. However, refinement techniques have improved since the previous event, so rewards from the minigame will be a bit better, especially for those who score fewer points. New Party Popper! It wouldn’t be the anniversary without a brand new Party Popper to earn. The 12th Anniversary version of our annual toy-device presents the amoral exultation of the Terran Empire! Captains may hesitate to engage in such dubious merriment, but ‘tis the season! We’ll see you at the party! |

As Star Trek Online celebrates its 12th Anniversary, we will be following our long-standing tradition of allowing players the opportunity to earn a free starship by participating in our Anniversary Event. And in following a more recently-established tradition, this year’s starship will represent the next in a line of breathtaking vessels we have designed as products of the in-world Alliance, represented primarily by the Federation, Klingon Empire, and Romulan Republic. The latest in the line of Alliance starships will be available to players of all factions upon completion of the Anniversary Event – the Jarok Alliance Carrier [T6]. Earning the ship will require completing any of the various activities available through the Anniversary Event each day, and gathering enough Daily Progress to fulfill the Event’s overall quota. Players may participate in any of the available activities to earn their Daily Progress once per day, per account. Once you have earned sufficient Daily Progress, you may claim this Starship for your entire account. Just open the Event Reclaim Store to claim an Jarok Alliance Carrier [T6] for each captain on your account. Jarok Alliance Carrier (T6) The Jarok Alliance Carrier represents the latest in the Alliance shipyards' attempts to marry the distinct styles of design and engineering from its primary member factions. The results of this particular design project - led primarily by Romulan Republic engineers - speak for themselves in terms of the role the ship is intended to play in the Alliance's fleets. Its surprising mobility, enormous sensor arrays, and massive hangar capacity place it squarely into a role as a mobile research station - a vessel that is equally capable of leading defensive fleets from the forefront, and of supporting scientific pursuits and dangerous exploration missions. This ship features an Ensign Science / Command Specialist Bridge Officer Seat, and a Lt. Commander Universal / Temporal Operative Specialist Bridge Officer Seat. Ship Details: Spoiler: show Admiralty Stats Eng: 48 Sci: 51 Tac: 27 Special: -25% Maintenance per Tac Ship Console – Universal – Sensor Suspension Burst This sophisticated suite of sensor bafflers is meant to mask the energy signature of smaller vessels across a wide expanse of the battlefield. Activation will cause all hangar pets and other summoned allies to be untargetable by enemies within 10km of them, allowing them ample opportunity to line up critical hits on unprotected components. The initial burst of this activation also includes coordination protocols that will immediately reset the hangar bay launch cooldowns of your own vessel and other allied starships with hangar bays. This console also provides a passive bonus to Critical Hit Chance and Auxiliary Subsystem Power. This Console Mod can be equipped on any starship, and can be fit in any console slot. You may only equip one of these mods on any single ship. Starship Trait – Backup Shield Batteries Activating any Shield Drain or Energy Drain Bridge Officer ability will add a Charge to your starship, up to a maximum of once per 15 seconds. Whenever a Shield Facing is depleted, it will immediately be restored to full capacity, and consume one Charge. Each Charge has no maximum duration, but only four Charges may be stored. Alliance Fighter Squadrons (Hangar Pets) These agile vessels are specially designed to work in small strike groups, designed primarily for focused takedowns of high-value targets. They are capable of being used on any vessel with a Hangar Bay, but may only be obtained if you have completed the 12th Anniversary Event, and claimed the Jarok Alliance Carrier [T6].
